Building Women-Focused Finance:The Global-Local ExperienceMIDDLE EAST & NORTH AFRICA
NOVEMBER 19-20, 2013AMMAN, JORDAN
UNDER THE PATRONAGE OF HER MAJESTY QUEEN RANIA AL ABDULLAH
I am so pleased for Women’s World Banking to host the Building Women-Focused Finance conference, the fi rst of its kind in the region. Financial inclusion in the Middle East and North Africa is at an important juncture, with enormous opportunity to serve new segments with innovative products and services. It is my hope that the discussions here will result in fi nancial institutions truly meeting the economic needs of women clients.
MARY ELLEN ISKENDERIAN, President & CEO, Women’s World Banking
Citi is a committed partner in Women’s World Banking’s work to promote fi nancial inclusion for low-income women. As a long-time supporter of Women’s World Banking, we are particularly proud to support the Building Women-Focused Finance conference in Amman, Jordan this year. Given the political and social challenges in the region for women, this event represents a key moment for exploring emerging opportunities in the fi nancial sector, as well as fostering thought leadership on such critical and wide-ranging issues as regulation, technology, investment, client-focused products and women’s fi nancial capabilities. I am, as always, very much looking forward to what promises to be an exciting and fruitful conference.
BOB ANNIBALE, Global Director, Citi Microfi nance and Community Development
When Women’s World Banking chose to hold their Building Women-Focused Finance conference in Jordan, we saw this as an ideal opportunity to bring together our members in the absence of a 2013 Sanabel conference. We are thrilled that this event will allow Sanabel members, Women’s World Banking network members, and other industry stakeholders to jointly tackle challenges and explore opportunities together. It will be a forum to advance partnership beyond borders.
SAHAR TIEBY, Executive Director, Sanabel
