harm and danger that we, being ready in both body and soul, may cheerfully accomplish what You want done; through Jesus Christ, Your Son our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. People: Amen.

EPISTLE READING Romans 10:5–17 For Moses writes about the righteousness that is based on the law, that the person who does the commandments shall live by them. But the righteousness based on faith says, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’” (that is, to bring Christ down) “or ‘Who will descend into the abyss?’” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim); because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?” So faith comes from hearing,

7

and hearing through the word of Christ.

Reader: This is the Word of the Lord. People: Thanks be to God.

WE SING TO THE LORD “10,000 Reasons” Chorus: Bless the Lord O my soul, O my soul. Worship His holy name Sing like never before, O my soul. I'll worship Your holy name

The sun comes up it's a new day dawning It's time to sing Your song again Whatever may pass and whatever lies before me Let me be singing when the evening comes

Chorus

You're rich in love and You're slow to anger Your name is great and Your heart is kind For all Your goodness I will keep on singing Ten thousand reasons for my heart to find

Chorus

And on that day when my strength is failing The end draws near and my time has come Still my soul will sing Your praise unending Ten thousand years and then forevermore.

BENEDICTION

CLOSING SONG “Guide Me Ever Great Redeemer” Guide me ever great redeemer, Pilgrim through this barren land. I am weak, but You are mighty; Hold me with Your pow'rful hand. Bread of heaven, bread of heaven, Feed me now and evermore. Feed me now and evermore.

Open now the crystal fountain, Where the healing waters flow; Let the fire and cloudy pillar, Lead me all my journey through. Strong deliv'rer, strong deliv'rer, Shield me with your mighty arm. Shield me with your mighty arm.

When I tread the verge of Jordan, bid my anxious fears subside; Death of death and hell's destruction, Land me safe on Canaan's side. Songs and praises, Songs and praises, I will raise forevermore. I will raise forevermore! © 1982, 1995 The Sacred Music Press CCLI License No. 684779

Below is a message from Don Larson’s daughter.

Hello friends and family of Don Larson,

I wanted to say a big heartfelt thank you for all your condolences and kind words for Don and his family. It really is amazing to see so many people impacted by Don throughout their lives.

Don passed peacefully and pain-free on Tuesday morning. We're planning to have a digital live stream of the memorial service. If anyone would like to say a few words about Don, and how he impacted your life, please send a recording of yourself to be included in a tribute video.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, we would like donations to be made to the San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park.

Please contact the church office for information on where to send cards, videos, and donations.
