INTRODUCTION
The VISION2030 advocates that school sport should become more ambitious and more innovative, the launch of multisport events one of the strategic actions to implement the vision. In line with the Vision, the World Schools Championship Ski is converted into a new winter multi-disciplinary event, the ‘Schools Winter Games’ including, next to the traditional ski disciplines (Alpine and Cross-Country), 6 new winter sports, open for selected teams. The new format will create also the opportunity to set up and reinforce links with the respective national federations concerned.
The Executive Committee (EC) of the International School Sport Federation (ISF) entrusted the organisation of the 1st Schools Winter Games to Grenoble, France. The event will take place in the framework of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Winter Olympic Games in Grenoble in 1968.

3. Travelling and visa
Travel as far as Grenoble is to be arranged and financed by each participating country. When the distance between Grenoble and the capital of a participating country on another continent exceeds 5000 kilometres the delegation may extend its stay by arriving one day earlier or leaving one day later at the normal daily fee (50 EUR).
Delegations are to arrive on 5th February and to depart on 10th February after breakfast.
The organisation of an extended stay for the delegation (before or after the event) is a matter for the country concerned. It shall not be the responsibility of the Local Organising Committee.
Please check if your country needs visa to enter France.

Only athletes that took part in school or individual competitions during the event shall be eligible to participate in Mixed Team Events. The format of Mixed Team Events competitions shall be clarified in technical meetings during the event. No registration for Mixed Team Events is necessary.

If less than 8 countries will register in one of the sports, the respective event might be cancelled.

Competitors:
All students in a school team must have been enrolled at the same school since the beginning of the school year 2017/2018. All students in a selected team must have been enrolled at a school in the country they represent since the beginning of the school year 2017/2018.
All students must be attending schools which provide a general education. The following are not eligible to participate:
pupils of vocational schools who only attend that school as a complement totheir vocational training;
school teams and pupils enrolled at schools which provide sports trainingwithout any general education;
part-time (e.g. afternoon) sports schools which take pupils from a variety ofschools for training in one or more sports;
teams formed as part of clubs, companies, universities or other institutions.
Coaches: the coach is the trainer dedicated to his/her team. Participating countries are bound to have one coach per team.
Head of Delegation: He/she may not combine the function of Head of Delegation and coach or another official function. He/she shall be the sole intermediary between his/her delegation and the Organising Committee, the ISF Technical Commission and the ISF Delegate.
Deputy Head of Delegation: He/she may not combine the function of Deputy Head of Delegation and coach or another official function. He/she shall assist the Head of Delegation in his/her function and represent him/her in case of absence.
Umpires: Umpires, judges and referees shall be provided by the Organising Committee.
Additional adults: function must be specified: doctor, physiotherapist, interpreter, security personnel, ministry representative, journalist... Any other additional person will not be considered part of the official delegation and will not be accredited by the OC.
Participants obligations:
Each participant is required to be present throughout the whole duration of the event.
Each participant is obliged to take part also in all of the non-sport activities.
Each team undertakes to compete against all other participating teams.
Each participant undertakes to compete against all other participants.
The absence of any member of a participating team from any part of the entire sport programme, opening-, prize-giving- and closing ceremonies and socio-cultural programme may result in the team being excluded from the results.

4. Technical Rules
a. Competitions in Alpine and Cross-Country Skiing shall be run according tocurrent ISF and FIS rules under the direction of the ISF Technical CommissionSki.
b. Competitions in all the other sports shall be run according to current ISF rulesand to the current rules of the International Federation concerned.
c. In Alpine and Cross-Country Skiing, countries considered as “lowlandcountries”, having unfavourable training/geographical conditions for thepractice of these sports can participate in the competitions with selectedteams.The following countries are considered “lowland countries”: Belgium, Cyprus,Denmark, Great Britain, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Hungary.Other countries with similar conditions may, at the discretion of the ISFTechnical Commission for ski, be accorded the same status.
d. The competition format can be changed due to a reduced number ofparticipants or bad weather conditions.
e. Details of technical regulations and competition format will be included in thenext bulletin.
5. Prize Giving
a. Each participant shall receive a commemorative certificate.
b. For school team competitions (and exceptions outlined in paragraph 4.c),teams finishing first, second and third shall be rewarded with medals andtrophies.
c. For selected team competitions, competitors finishing first, second and thirdshall be rewarded with medals and trophies.
d. The ISF Joy of Moving Award shall be awarded to a delegation by theDisciplinary Commission following consultation with the TechnicalCommission, the Organising Committee and the delegations.
ADMINISTRATION
1. Registration
The electronic entry registration form (click here) should be duly completed on behalf of the organisation responsible for your school sport entity as soon as possible but at the latest by 30th September 2017. The registration will be open from 1st of September 2017.

You can enter ERAS with the username and password received in April 2017. If you need a new username and password, please contact the ISF secretariat [email protected].
2. Payment
a) Participation feeIn accordance with the rules laid down by ISF, the payment to be made to the organisers of the event amounts to 50 EUR per person and per night. The fee (per person/per night) for all participants is as follow:

The fee covers full board accommodation for the duration of the event. It covers the competition (ski passes if applicable), cultural programme activities and all transport in connection with the official programme (arrival, departure, sports and cultural programmes).
b) ISF levyAn additional ISF levy of 40 EUR per member in the delegation will be collected at the time of registration.
c) Donation to the School Sport FoundationThe ISF School Sport Foundation intends to provide underprivileged school children with opportunities to access sports training by highly qualified PE teachers and trainers and to dispose of good quality school sport equipment and infrastructure. One of the occasions to help the Foundation is the Charity Gala Dinner in which the Heads of Delegation will be invited. An extra contribution of 50 € for taking part is requested. A second way to raise funds for the School Sport Foundation is a free contribution that you can add to the 40 € ISF levy of the participants in the Schools Winter Games. You can add 5 €, 10 € or 15 € per participant to the ISF levy to pay. Instead of paying 40 €, you thus pay 45 €, 50 € or 55 € per participant.

3. Deposit
Along with the entry, each country must pay a deposit of 100 € per person as confirmation of the entry. The deposit must be sent as a single payment for the whole delegation by the organisation responsible for school sport (federation, trust, ministry, …). Payments by individual schools will not be accepted. The sum of the deposit will be deducted from the total cost of participation.
The deposit is non-refundable in the event of non-participation unless the registered country has informed the organisers at least one month before the start of event or in the case of unusual or unforeseen circumstances (force majeure). The latter instance will require the approval of the ISF Management Committee.

All bank charges (for both deposit and balance) are to be met by the participating countries!
4. Insurance
Each country is required to provide insurance for each member of its delegation. At a minimum the insurance is to cover civil liability, material damage and medical costs.
