Hearts & Hands is a common-interest group for anyone inter-ested in different types of handiwork; knitting, crocheting, tat-

Vineyard Joggers meet Saturdays in the church parking lot from 10:30-11:30 a.m. for jogging or walking on the outer church road. Routes of 2.5, 3, and 3.5 miles are mapped out for you. Contact Jason Key at 816.419.9196 or [email protected].

Vineyard Golfers meets Fridays 5-7 p.m. at Shoal Creek golf course. Men and women can

How We Love Seminar: Sept. 28-29 and Oct. 5-6, Fridays, 6:30-8:30 p.m. and Saturdays, 9:30-11:30 a.m. in North Cam-pus Room 131. This is a 2-weekend video-driven seminar that helps you discover the root of your relationship problems. Our early life experiences, for better or worse, teach us how to love. Food Pantry serves 1538 in-dividuals monthly! YOUR HELP COUNTS! We need:• Canned meat

(Tuna/Chicken)• Hamburger Helper• Canned soup• Spaghetti sauceYou can support the Food Pantry by donating food items or providing funds. To volunteer, contact Tempest Linn at [email protected].

Volunteers needed to help prepare weekend bulletins. Our bulletin preparation team needs volunteers Friday mornings for a couple of hours to place sermon notes and announcement in-serts inside bulletins. You will be serving for a month with oth-er team members approximately two times per year. Call Tina MacDowell at 816.256.0909.

Joy Ministry is looking for high school and adult volunteers to buddy one-on-one with special needs children at KOTV on Saturdays at 5 p.m. All you need is a will-ing heart and love for kids. Contact Beth Jones at 816.805.2178 or [email protected].

Food Pantry: Serve a couple of times monthly on Monday, Wednesday, or Sat-urday mornings from 9-11:30 a.m. to put food away and to assist families needing food. If interested contact Tempest Linn at [email protected].

Meals Ministry is looking for people who have a heart to help those who need meals because of an illness, surgery, or child birth. Americans are blessed to have the right to be involved in our system of government—but that right comes with a responsibility: participation.

For millions of people in other parts of the world, voting is just a dream. Still, many Americans with the right to vote are not acting on that right. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, as many as 29% of citizens were not registered to vote in 2008—that's 60 million people! More than one-third of eligible voting citizens did not vote in the last presidential election.

As Christ's representatives on earth, Christians have a mandate to be the "salt and light" in our culture (Mat-thew 5:13-16). Since this is a presidential election year, we have the opportunity to positively impact the direction of our country, the men and women who lead it, and the policies they enact.
