As the environment influences almost every aspect of business (be it its nature, its location, the prices of products, the distribution system etc.), it is important to learn about the various components of the business environment, which consists of the economic aspect, the socio-cultural aspects, the political framework, the legal aspects and the technological aspects etc. The course has a strong managerial orientation that is relevant to the current business environment. In addition, this course will also acquaint the students with the concept of social responsibility of business and corporate governance. Objectives To familiarize the future managers with the concepts of the macroeconomic environment of business To understand the various socio-economic frameworks and their usefulness in the decision making process in the evolving business environment To analyse the recent changes in the economic , legal and social environment particularly in the Indian context Text Book: Business Environment: Shaikh Saleem, Pearson Education (Recent Edition).
