Enabled faster and secure online access to electoral data via modernized application

• Business challenge

– Modernize core applications to improve processing and sharing of demographic information to enable real-time monitoring of electoral data.

• Solution

– ClearPath Enterprise Servers, Business Information Server (BIS) with Internet Commerce Enabler (ICE), JavaScript / HTML for WebApp and Internet site, Electoral Office applications, and a customized portable console for assessors.

• Results and benefit – Achieved significant cost savings with paperless transactions between citizens and government agencies

– Connected the electoral application with 499 laptops and 85 workstations simultaneously to manage over 2 million voters

– Enabled secure online access for citizens and other organizations including attorneys and notaries, to demographic certificates

– Developed an iPad application for real-time monitoring and publishing of electoral data

Unisys Global Logistics System (GLS)

• Business challenge

Unisys needed a global system that supports the functions of a fully integrated global supply chain, including functionality for managing the service delivery, physical distribution, logistics/materials planning, and managed services requirements of Unisys customers. Original system was tightly coupled and had archaic green screens. ICE (Internet Commerce Enabler) was used to modernize the system, open standards based and compatible with any Service Call Management system.

Editor Features

• Opening a script/report in edit mode

– Scripts and reports are opened in View (read-only) mode. If you have write access you can switch between Edit and View modes using the Edit mode menu on the status bar at the bottom of the main workshop window.

• Automatically rebuild a BIS script's label table

– This feature automatically rebuilds a script's existing label table when it is saved.

• Code Assistance feature

– The Code Assistance feature for both JavaScript and BIS Script can now be turned on from the keyboard using shortcut keys.

• Autos window

– The Autos window displays the variables associated with the current and previous execution. Autos variable values can be changed when in debug mode.

• Debug Call Stack window enhancements

– This feature allows you to switch the call stack context to a different call stack level, so you can view variables and results from the selected call stack level.

• Add multiple reports or scripts to a project at once

– This feature allows you to add multiple reports or scripts to a project with one add operation.

• Data Report Properties Window

– If the data report contains an image, the Data Report Properties window displays a preview of the image along with all the other report properties.

• Automatic workshop updates

– The Workshop automatically checks if a new IC or minor release is available. If an update is available you can download the update and install it the next time the Workshop is started.
