Day 1 (Wednesday: 3/31) San Francisco to BeijingBoard a convenient charter bus in the morning and travel to San Francisco International Airport for an afternoon flight on Air China CA986 departing at 1:55pm to Bejing. Your adventure begins as you fly trans-Pacific aboard a wide cabin jetliner. Cross the International Dateline.

Day 2 (Thursday: 4/1) Beijing (King Wing Hotel 5-Star, 17 Dongsanhuan Road S. Tel: 86-10-67668866)Arrive in Beijing, the Capital of China at 6:15pm. You will be met by your local tour guide at the airport. Transfer to the hotel.

Day 3 (Friday: 4/2) BeijingVisit Tian An Men Square the largest square in the world, and the Temple of Heaven built in 1420 A.D., where the emperors prayed to the heaven for a good harvest. Sightseeing also includes the Palace Museum, also known as the Forbidden City, home of 24 emperors with a total space of 9,999 rooms, and the Summer Palace, known for many significances such as the Long Corridor with painted gallery, Kunming Lake and Longevity Hill, Seventeen- Arch Bridge and Marble Boat.

Day 4 (Saturday 4/3) BeijingTour bus excursion to the Great Wall. The 4,000- mile long and 2,000 year old construction is said to be the only man-made structure visible by the naked eye from the moon. Visit to the Ming Tombs, one of 13 Ming Emperors’ Tombs is fully excavated and open for exploration. Roasted Beijing Duck Dinner.

Day 5 (Sunday 4/4) Beijing/Shanghai/Suzhou (Welth Center Hotel/4-Star, 938 Ganjiang Road E., Tel: 86-512-65229188) Morning flight on Air China CA1519 departing at 9:30am and arriving Shanghai at 11:30am followed by a tour bus trip to Suzhou. Evening Dinner Show with traditional Chinese Music.

Day 6 (Monday 4/5) Suzhou/Hangzhou (Regal Hotel/5-Star, 370 Gym Road Tel: 86-571-56199999) Morning sightseeing to the centuries old Lingering Garden, Tiger Hill and Hanshan Temple. Visit the National Embroidery

Institute to see silk embroidery, an important local craft with 1,000 years of history. Afternoon tour bus journey to Hangzhou. Visit the Economic Development Zone.

Day 7 (Tuesday 4/6) Hangzhou/Shanghai (Guangdong Hotel/5-Star, 328 Yixian Rd., Tel: 86-21-51171888)Morning boat cruise on West Lake with a relaxing stopover at jewel-like pagodas and tea houses. Visit the centuries old Lingyin Temple, with the main feature of the 64.3 foot-high camphor-wood carved Buddha. Afternoon tour bus trip to Shanghai.

Day 8 (Wednesday 4/7) ShanghaiSightseeing includes the Yu Garden, a maze of marvelous pavilions, ponds, rocky works and over-arching trees. Visit the Bund, a famous waterfront park. Business visit to the Pudong economic development zone.

Day 9 (Thursday 4/8) Shanghai to San FranciscoDepart on a morning flight to Beijing. Transfer to the afternoon flight on Air China CA985 that departs at 5:15pm, arriving into San Francisco at 11:55am on the same day. You will return to Walnut Creek on the chartered shuttle bus.

OPTIONAL TRIP TO XI’AN

The optional trip to Xi’an (Terra Cotta Warriors) excludes Suzhou and Hangzhou. Add $450 per person.

Day 4 (Saturday 4/3) The same itinerary like everybody else.

Day 5 (Sunday 4/4) Morning flight to Xi’an, stay at Grand Castle Hotel. Afternoon sightseeing to the Big Wild Geese Pagoda. Evening entertainment of Tang Style Dancing.

Day 6 (Monday 4/5) Morning bus excursion to the Terra-Cotta Warriors at the Tomb of the First Emperor of Qin Dynasty. On the way back, visit the Huaqing Hot Spring Park and Banpo Museum, a preserved pre-historical cavemen site.

Day 7 (Tuesday 4/6) Flight to ShanghaiContinue with the same itinerary as the rest of the group.
