1.11 Limitations:

There may be some limitations behind this report. These are –

1. Before this report, we did not prepare any business plan. That is why we faced

some problems to prepare the report because of new comers.

2. In the point of view of Bangladesh there was lack of information which we

searched from internet.

3. People sometime seem very unfriendly while asking questionnaires.

4. The Managers of other theme parks did not share enough information with us

due to their privacy.

5. Some time the managers provide wrong information.

6. We are failed to survey outside of Dhaka city.

7. The market survey is not sufficient to justify the total market condition of Dhaka

city.

2.Description of the Industry:

In 1980 at first the theme park concept were introduce in Bangladesh. At that time only

one theme park named, shisupark was established for entertainment of the people of

Dhaka city in Bangladesh. After that time another theme park was established in

Shamoli named shishumela for fulfilling peoples demand. Since these two parks serves

only children’s. That’s why after that another theme theme park was established at

Gulshan named wonderland. After also peoples were not satisfied comparing with

neighborhood countries entertainment. So for fulfilling these types of demand of

peoples, the renowned concord group of companies was introduce the largest theme

park in Bangladesh named Fantasy Kingdom. The park fantasy kingdom provides

entertainment service as foreign theme parks. Now this park has become market leader

to capture maximum market share in theme park industry in Bangladesh. After that

another theme park named Nondon Park was introduced by nondon group of

companies which is situated at Nobinagar, Savar. This park also provides entertainment

service as foreign style. But due to some poor strategic management they are the second

communications activities designed to create and maintain a favorable public image for

a firm.

Again, publicity is the act, process, or occupation of disseminating information to gain

public interest. Publicity is the deliberate attempt to manage the public's perception of a

45

product. The product could include anything from traditional goods and services, to

celebrities, or works of entertainment.

Firms attempt to gain publicity for several purposes. They may want to increase

awareness of their products, to build a positive image with the general public, to gain

recognition for employees and accomplishments, or at times counter negative events or

news stories.

Publicity is all about informing the public about a business’s existence and its activities.

9.1 Work policies

Work policies are one of the important things, which the organization should consider

very carefully. There are certain factors that should be included in work policies that

may affect employees. Due to poor labor law and increasing number of welfare

organizations in the country, the workers sometimes want to fulfill unfair means. This is

why nowadays the organizations signed the Job Specification and Job Description so

that they are totally aware of the situation and later they can’t raises their voice. The

purpose of policy is to provide guidelines for administering a modified duty program.

We have considered certain areas in which we will reveal details of our work policy.

They are as follows

HOURS OF WORKS:

10.00 am to 4.00 pm

4.00 pm to 10.00 pm

SAFETY ACCIDENT PREVENTION:

1. First aid box will be there for small injuries.

2. Fire extinguisher will be present on the spot.

Clinic will be there to deal with serious injuries happened to workers at the time of duty.

55

Page 56: Business Plan of a Theme Park

COMPENSATION:

The most important and the most vital work of a human resource manager are to plan

the compensation program of an organization’s employees. Job evaluation is the process

whereby an organization systematically establishes its compensation program. In this

process, jobs are compared in order to determine each day’s appropriate worth within

the organization.

Employees exchange work for rewards. The most important reward and indeed, the

most obvious is money. But not all employees earn the same amount of money. This

differentiation is explained by the compensation program.

Employee Benefits

When an organization designs its overall compensation program, a critical area of

concern is what benefits to provide. Today’s workers expect more than just an hourly

wage or a salary; they want additional considerations that will enrich their lives. These

considerations in an employment setting are called employment benefits.

Employee benefits have grown in importance and variety over the past several decades.

Once perceived as an added feature, employee benefit administration has transformed

itself into a well thought-out, well organized package. Employers realize that such

benefits affect whether or not applicants accept their employment offers, or once

employed, stay with the organization. Benefits are, therefore, necessary components of

an effectively functioning compensation program.

For the employees of Paradise Theme Park, special benefit programs will be provided.

The benefit programs are explained below:

a. Employee’s Compensation - This is for the employees at the park of

Paradise Theme Park. If the employees are hurt at the time of working in the

56

Page 57: Business Plan of a Theme Park

theme park, then any loss to the employees will be borne by the

organization. The injured employee will be compensated either by monetary

allocation or by payment of medical expenses.

b. Sick leave – This benefit will provide the opportunity for employees to take

sick leave and also get paid for their absence.

c. Vacation and holiday leave – This will be available for the employees if

they are with the organization for a specified period of time. Common

practice would be to relate the length of vacation to the length of tenure and

job classification in the organization.

TIME OFF:

If a worker is suffering problems related with family, in that time he can’t work

properly. If we allow him/her a couple of days leave the result will be better. In this

way, we will not lose skill workers and win the heart of the local people.

GRIEVANCE:

We will arrange a session every Friday for workers, where they will disclose their

problems without any type of hesitation. This will help the management to know what

their workers have in their mind and by this way they can reduce the gap or

miscommunication between them. This sort of open discussion will help the workers to

feel that they are part of the organization.

TERMINATION:

The management will inform the concern worker a month ago that his job will be

terminated at a said date. The worker will receive a month or half a month salary

depending on the situation in which they will be terminated.

57
