A.J. Fasteners was founded in 1974 as a fastener distributor specializing in the builder’s hardware industry. Our first priority was service and remains true today. During the first couple of years, due to shortages and unreliable delivery from overseas, it became apparent that we should return to our original love, manufacturing. Initially A.J. Fasteners started with two cold headers and one thread roller. Today, we have over 20 headers and 10 rollers, capable of manufacturing small (#4 diameter) machine screws to 3/8 diameter bolts used in steam boilers.

While our customer base has expanded to include Fortune 500 companies, our original goal of service has never changed. Our fasteners can be found on the hot & cold faucets in your bathroom to the wheel spokes of a Harley-Davison motorcycle, from closet shelving to the distributor cap of a ’57 Chevy. We specialize in production runs of engineered fasteners for original equipment manufactures.

Over the years, A.J. Fasteners has expanded to meet our customer’s requirements. We provide stampings, springs, electronic hardware, kiting, bar coding, packaging, and VMI to name a few. We excel in many secondary operations such as grinding and assembly. A.J. Fasteners has partnered with manufactures overseas in order to provide cost effective OEM components to meet a global economy.

Our sales and engineering staff has the experience to assist in the developmental stages of the entrepreneur to working with the complex engineering solutions of major companies. With the same vision that foresaw the need for, just in time; vendor managed inventory, bar coding, auto cad,100% inspection and many other innovations to the fastener industry, Joe Aiello brought Larry Roa on board in 1988 to learn the A.J. Fastener’s way. This transition was finalized in 1999, when Larry Roa purchased the remaining stock of A.J. Fasteners.

As we move into the 21st century, A.J. Fasteners will continue to identify new opportunities that will enable it to increase its sales as well as insure it’s current recognition in the marketplace.

GENERAL INFORMATIONManufacturer of industrial fasteners in a wide variety of materials including Hastelloy®, Inconel®, stainless steel, steel, nylon, brass, silicon, bronze, aluminum & zinc alloy. Products include bolts, nuts, screws, pins, washers, rivets, sockets & shields. Wide variety of head styles, drive types, points & ends, thread types & lengths available. Wide variety of plating finishes including cadmium, zinc, hot dip galvanized, nickel, brass, anodize.

SPECIALSA large variety of special cold and hot headed parts are available from our mills. Many items that are currently produced on screw machines are adaptable to cold heading, which will naturally reduce the cost of the finished part. It is impossible to list all of the dies, etc., available as they run into many thousands of items. We would be most happy to receive your prints and inquiries for these specialty items. Minimum mill production runs, depending on the size and shape of the special item, will run between 10M to 25M pieces.

TECHNICALInformation regarding technical data, such as dimensions and material strength characteristics is too lengthy to be included in this website, but can be readily obtained by calling our office.

IMPORTED FASTENERSIn addition to the 100 or more domestic manufacturing plants that we represent, we have access to many foreign mills in Japan, Germany, Sweden, Great Britain, Italy, etc. If your requirements are such that they can be manufactured overseas we would be willing to act as your importer on these large bulk quantities. Obviously, the foreign plants have greater limitations on size and range of products than the domestic mills and their minimum requirements are quite large. We stress that all imported items handled by us are made in strict accordance with American federal standards and carry a 100 percent guarantee.

MATERIALSMost items in the fastener field are available in a variety of materials including some of the more exotic alloys such as Hastelloy, Inconel, etc., however, the more popular items are usually fabricated from one of the following:

• Grade 2 steel - Low Carbon, general purpose• Grade 5 steel - Medium Carbon, heat treated• Grade 8 steel - Alloy, high strength• Stainless Steel T18-8 - General purpose - corrosion resistance• Stainless Steel T-316 - Higher corrosion resistance• Stainless Steel T410 - Hardenable & magnetic• Stainless Steel T430 - Magnetic-lower corrosion resistance• Monel - Nickel/Copper Alloy, high strength & high corrosion resistance• Nylon - Lightweight insulating• P. V.C. - High strength plastic, corrosion resistance for outdoor use Brass - Non-Magnetic, corrosion resistant Silicon Bronze- Copper alloy, good strength & corrosion• Resistance, electrical conductor Aluminum - Lightweight, good • corrosion resistance, variety of alloys• Zinc Alloy - Soft metal, anchoring & expansion devices

PLATINGA wide variety of finishes are available and the following shows the popular types of plating. • Cadmium I - Bright Silver • Cadium II - Yellow Iridescent• Zinc I - Bluish Silver • Zinc II - Yellow Iridescent• Hot Dip Galv - Dull Grey • Hot Dip Tin - Dull Silver• Nickel - Bright Silver • Chrome - Bright Silver-bluish• Brass - Bright Brass tint• Anodize - Various colors Black Oxide - Shiny Black on aluminum • Phospate - Dull matt dark• Passivation - On stainless grey to brighten surface Antique Brass
