The ÄNGSÖ series brings a classic look to your outdoor dining, whether you have a sprawling garden or a small one. The series is made of solid pine – and to ensure it is as durable and resistant to decay as possible it is produced from heartwood, which is the dense inner portion of the tree trunk. The furniture is pre-treated with several layers

of wood stain so you can be sure the surface is durable enough for outdoor use.

Only available in black-brown colour.

FALSTER – The look of wood without the maintenance

Made of durable plastic, the FALSTER outdoor furniture series has the look and feel of wood but doesn’t require any maintenance.

folded flat, for space-saving storage. The series is made of plastic and powder-coated steel, which means it’s durable and easy to care for, too. Only in white colour.

TUNHOLMEN – lightweight, steady and maintenance-free

TUNHOLMEN table and chair are made to withstand the high requirements in a restaurant but works just as well at home, ideal for when you want robust and durable outdoor furniture. The tables and chairs are all easy to move around, as they’re made from aluminium. So they’re rustproof, too. And because the chairs are stackable and the tables fold up quickly, you save storage space. The tiny holes in the seats drain away water.

Parasols are perfect for protecting yourself and your loved ones from the scorching sun. All our parasols have poly-ester fabric with UV protection, many with UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) rating of 50+, which means the fabric blocks 98% of the ultraviolet radiation. If you want to get some shade without an awkward pole getting in the way, then have a look at our hanging parasols. The frame will stand out of the way to offer the perfect amount of shade and the perfect amount of space underneath.

PROTECTING AND CARING FOR YOUR OUTDOOR FURNITURE

Many different materials to suit different needs

Our outdoor furniture is available in many different materi-als and finishes to suit different styles, needs and lifestyles. Some materials, like wood, need a little extra care every now and then, while our FALSTER series has the look and feel of wood but is made of polystyrene plastic and requires no maintenance. However, no matter the material, the best way to extend the life of your outdoor furniture is by

cleaning it regularly and not leaving it outdoors unprotected more than necessary. Protect it with a cover when not in use – and if possible store it in a dry, cool place indoors when the season is over.

Caring for the future of forests

All of the wood used in IKEA products must meet our forestry standards, which include a ban on wood that is illegally logged and logging that damages high conser-vation value forests. Our 20 IKEA foresters help ensure the wood we use meets those standards. But we don’t stop there. We’re increasing the amount of wood we use from more sustainable sources – currently that’s

recycled wood or FSC® certified wood. Wood from those forests is still in limited supply so we’re working with the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) and other partners to increase it further. Our goal is that, by 2020, all our wood shall come from more sustainable sources.

Easy-care materials

AluminiumLightweight and rustproof, aluminum is often used as a frame or support in outdoor furniture. It is also durable and easy to clean. Aluminium withstands rain, snow, low and high temperatures. PlasticPlastic is a durable, easy to clean material. It withstands rain, snow, low and high temperatures. In freezing tem-peratures, plastic can weaken and is not recommended for use. All our plastic outdoor furniture is both UV stabilised and fade resistant, which means it will look fresh and new for longer.

Plastic rattanPlastic rattan has the same expression as natural rattan, but is suited for outdoor use. It’s easy to clean, hand-woven and durable. It withstands rain, snow, low and high temper-atures. In freezing temperatures, plastic rattan can weaken and is not recommended for use. Our plastic rattan outdoor furniture is both UV stabilised and fade resistant, which means it will look fresh and new for longer.

SteelOften used as a frame or support in outdoor furniture, steel is durable, easy to clean. It withstands rain, snow, low and high temperature. A powder-coating of paint protects the steel from rust. Galvanised steel with a layer of powder- coated paint gives the highest protection against rust.

Materials that need a little extra care

Acacia and eucalyptusAcacia and eucalyptus are hardwoods that are commonly used in outdoor furniture because of their durability. All acacia and eucalyptus outdoor furniture is pre-treated with wood stain or paint for protection and to extend the time before you need to maintain it . Maintenance like re-stain-ing will extend the lifetime of the wood. The amount and frequency of re-staining depends on location, usage and exposure to sun and rain.

PinePine has been a popular material in furniture for centuries because of its natural beauty and durability. To make our pine outdoor furniture as durable and resistant to de-cay as possible we produce it from heartwood, which is the dense inner portion of the tree trunk. All our outdoor furniture is pre-treated with wood stain or paint for protec-tion and to extend the time before you need to maintain it. Maintenance like re-staining will extend the lifetime of the wood. The amount and frequency of re-staining depends on location, usage and exposure to sun and rain. Pine is a softwood and needs a little more care and maintenance than acacia and eucalyptus.

Wood stainRe-staining your wooden outdoor furniture regularly prevents the surface from drying out and cracking and moisture from penetrating into the wood. To add shine and protection but no colour we recommend colourless VÅRDA wood stain. To also refresh the colour we recom-

mend VÅRDA wood stain with pigment. The coloured finish will become deeper and more opaque with each additional coat of wood stain you apply.

How to calculate how many packages you need:

1. To calculate your outdoor area, multiply the length by the width. Example: Width 3 m×5 m = 15 m²
