basic concepts related to computer animation

The term "computer animation" covers a

broad range of subjects, but overall can be defined as the creation of moving images through the use of computers.

Storyboarding

A sketch of how to organize a story and a list of its contents.

A timeline refers to the frame-by-frame layout of all animation occurring over a delineated course of time.

The number of bits per

pixel that can be displayed on a computer screen. Data is stored in bits. Each bit represents two colors because it has a value of 0 or 1. The more bits per pixel, the more colors that can be displayed.

Color Depth

A layer refers to

differing levels on which you can place your drawings and objects, stacked above and below each other. Top layers will obscure bottom layers, just as when stacking things in real life.

Animated GIFs

A graphic image on a Web page that moves for example, a twirling icon or a banner with a hand that waves or letters that magically get larger.

a "frame" is a single complete image out of

the sequence of images comprising an animation. Taken alone, the frame is just a drawing - a piece of art.

a single still image in an animated sequence that occurs at an important point in that sequence.

"Tween" is actually short for "in-between", and

refers to the creation of successive frames of animation between key frames.
