What is Newcastle Falcons ?

Newcastle Falcons is a local rugby team. The Newcastle Falcons story goes back to 1877, when a group of men from Durham School met in a private house in Gosforth to discuss the formation of a new rugby club in the area. From there, the Gosforth Football Club was made, with its first game in November in that year. They kept the green and white strips from Gosforth until the 1990s. They bought new players with the likes of Scotland and Lions wing Arthur Smith and Ireland and Lions prop Ray McLoughlin playing for them. Gosforth increasingly dominated local rugby, and their club was getting bigger.

Supporters

Being a supporter myself I know quite a lot about the Falcons, I have supported them for about 4 Years know . I play for Percy park RFC and we have played a match in side the stadium. It was one of the best experience of my life. Also my rugby club has made a tunnel on the pitch which the Falcons and the other team ran through. There is a variety of different supporters, some from around Newcastle or some other places. There are also men , women and children supporters. Even though people from other places support the Falcons, most supporters are from Newcastle.
