The idea of creating a virtual university entirely dedicated to theoretical and applied methodology of social sciences was conceived in 2010 and after two years of study and reflection, UniVirtuelle was born in 2014. At the outset, UniVirtuelle, pursues two specific objectives for its development and organization. First, the promotion and development of distance education in the field of methodology, method of analyzing errors and deepen the knowledge in applied and practical methodology. This is based on the observation of a lack of knowledge among some students at different level of their academic studies. This could affect their academic achievements and it is even more noticeable for international students pursuing studies in another language. For this reason UniVirtuelle has devoted a large part of its programme to international students who are not native in the language of their studies. UniVirtuelle has defined its activities in the field of education based on the following: - The development of subject teaching, multidisci-plinary and interdisciplinary studies, - The establishment of specialized courses focusing on the theoretical and practical aspects, - The organization of applied and practical training for graduates and those wishing to use the methodology in their professional career, - The establishment of specialized modules and their integration into the curriculum, - The use of different types of distance learning and blended learning.

UniVirtuelle has a focused and practical vision at all level of its activities: - Preparation; courses and training specially designed with the intention of preparing international students in the field of methodol-ogy. These preparation courses are also addressed to students and graduates or those who are about to begin a professional career. - Support; courses specially designed for academic and professionals. This approach aims to support participants after their initial training. - Interactivity; UniVirtuelle’s programme is based on the concept of interactivity through different means of distance learning and practical exercises involving somehow the development of personal and professional projects. Taking into consideration the needs of students in the humanities, UniVirtuelle aims to become a reference centre for distance learning in the field of methodology but also a private research institution offering the opportunity to further specialized studies. UniVirtuelle does not only intend to teach the theory and the methodology of the humanities but considers itself as an international distance education centre in various disciplines of humanities. Therefore, UniVirtuelle’s faculty includes professors, teachers and researchers from all around the world. This practical and focused approach on specific teaching of the methodology of the humanities assigns UniVirtuelle a special status among international institutions of humanities. A position and an experience we would like to share with students everywhere in the world.

UniVirtuelle is primarily a vocation based on the sharing of knowledge and expertise in the field of the methodology of the humanities. A sharing of experience to build a better world for everyone by developing the humanities, neglected today in many countries.

UniVirtuelle is the first virtual university entirely dedicated to the methodology of the humanities and is an institution within Methodologica Universitas, Graduate School of the Methodology of the Humanities.

Methodologica Universitas is the first private school in France entirely devoted to the theoretical and applied methodology in humanities and was founded in Paris in November 2007. Methodologica Universitas is registered at Paris Chamber of Commerce under the RCS number 500 818 950 and as a training centre registered at Paris Prefecture of Police under the activity number 117 548 545 75. The school is also registered as a higher educational institution at INSEE (Directory of Companies and institutions). UniVirtuelle’s main activities are teaching, training in the field of distance learning and online publishing. The curriculum is based on the following basic principles: - Methodology courses at a higher education level, - Distance or online learning as well as blended trainings, - An appropriate methodology based on the use of multilingual materials for a better achievement, - Targeted modules for achieving practical results, - An education based on specially designed media for Methodologica Universitas. Teaching materials and textbooks are designed and developed by UniVirtuelle’s faculty and research team. Methodology’s programme is based on new theoretical and practical methods for both students

and professionals.

UniVirtuelle provides two options for its

distance learning program: a. Distance learning courses with e-mails or mails

sent to participants. The courses are in PDF format provided with corrections, keys and explications.

b. Online webinars allowing participants

worldwide to be synchronized with their teacher and other students.

These webinars allow participants to solve their problems or address issues in real time.

UniVirtuelle offers on its own PORTAL a series

of courses in different disciplines of social sciences. This type of education allows us to expand our

audience without geographical limitation and thus benefit from the teaching of teachers and trainers located throughout the world.

UniVirtuelle offers also tailor made trainings

that fit the needs of individuals but also public and private institutions.

For its distance learning programme,

UniVirtuelle uses appropriate teaching tools, both to each discipline and suitable for distance education such as audiovisual teaching aids and interactive courses via internet with regular contact with teachers.

The main advantage which distinguishes UniVirtuelle from other virtual university or distance learning institutions, is our programme and organization entirely dedicated to the methodology (theoretical and practical). This is both a singularity and originality in the field of higher education and specialized training offered to students in humani-ties. UniVirtuelle offers specialized distance trainings in foreign languages that focus on the learning method and contribute to personal and professional success of our students. The programme of specialized distance trainings has been prepared in different language such as: French, English, Spanish, and Persian. UniVirtuelle has its own teaching material for each discipline which allows students to learn quickly and efficiently. The teaching materials are specific and adapted to different levels. Our educational materi-als are written and prepared by our experienced teachers. UniVirtuelle offers a personalized service for online publications on its website (Digital Library) presenting research work such as master's thesis and doctoral dissertation. A great advantage of UniVirtuelle is its offer of targeted and specialized modules in addition to the main courses, which allow the achievement of concrete results. To allow everyone to attend a training in the field of their choice throughout the year, UniVirtuelle organizes every summer a "Virtual Summer School" and also special trainings during school holidays. UniVirtuelle benefit from experienced bilingual or even trilingual professors. UniVirtuelle has an international faculty able to com-municate perfectly in different languages and provide teachings in different field of humanities. Our professors are selected for their teaching skills and experience in methodology.

Thanks to our international faculty, UniVirtuelle is able to provide specialized courses on economics and social developments, political and geopolitical evolutions and many other subjects. In other words, UniVirtuelle is able to offer analysis from its professors and experts from the same region or country. Thanks to UniVirtuelle’s distance learning courses, students enjoy flexibility in their schedule and can complete their courses from everywhere. Our distance learning programme allows students to work when and where it is more convenient for them without having to squeeze in scheduled classes to an already busy life. UniVirtuelle offers numerous choices to its students so they can have different distance courses even in different field they might look for. In other words, your academic and professional choice for theoretical and practical education is greatly expanded with UniVirtuelle offers. It is obvious that the registration fees for distance courses are generally cheaper than in-classroom courses. Furthermore apart from the transportation costs, waste of time and scheduling conflict, the tuition fees of distance course are much cheaper. Students enrolling our courses can stay in their country, keep their job and save money by choos-ing our program. At UniVirtuelle students can choose and select theirs professors and courses. Our distance learning programme enables students to learn from some of the most experienced professors, guest speakers and instructors in each field of the humanities. In the other hand, our programme provides the opportunity to study more subjects and reach out courses that are not available in the immediate area of a classic education.

Training materials Trough the contribution of professors, instructors and specialists of the methodology of the Humanities, UniVirtuelle provides its own teaching materials and manuals for distance courses. Teaching materials of UniVirtuelle include both theoretical and practical elements based on a technique applied. The educational materials are published by Methodologica Universitas publishing ©.

UniVirtuelle’s professors provide their teaching based on a diverse and innovative educational materials (books and manuals, audio and video, or any other content-related to the program) that ensures the effectiveness of the program. Teaching materials vary depending on the train-ing: distance or hybrid (blended learning) Our students have the opportunity via a portal to: - Download courses and additional material; - Access to educational resources; - Receive additional exercises with answer keys.

Lectures and workshops UniVirtuelle offers also courses and practical workshops to participants in order to apply theory and gain experience in the field of study. These workshops are addressed to students who en-rolled a blended learning (Hybrid). In this case, students attend in classroom courses through workshops.

UniVirtuelle’s courses are developed around a few basic principles: - Mandatory modules to ensure all students a ba-sic knowledge in the field of study, - Practical, academic or professional modules planned for students and professionals who wish to enroll for distance courses. The purpose of these modules is to prepare participants for their academic or professional career. These modules are a practical initiative to deepen the knowledge acquired during the theoretical training and to practice and evaluate. It is recommended to have previously completed the distance learning course related to the theme of the module. One of the feature of our modules is the ability to analyze and evaluate the work of each participant. In addition to the educational material provided for each module, academic and professional work of participants will be part of the programme modules. Module’s programme consists of four parts: • The basics • Collective exercises • Individual exercises (project analysis of each participant) • A consolidated summary - Multidisciplinary workshops and online seminars are organized according to the content of each programme to further disciplinary knowledge and skills of students on a given theme. These online seminars are designed to enable the development of multidisciplinary knowledge on the topic. - Exercises and synthesis of theoretical and practi-cal assessment are provided for each training. - The focus of our training is the methodology (theory and applied) at all levels. Thus we ensure that our students overcome the difficulties of method to better apply and implement their academic and professional projects.

Blended learning has a special position in Methodologica Universitas’ curricula. This way of teaching combines the effectiveness of collective classes with the flexibility of distance learning. Blended learning offers part of the course in classroom while the other part is in distance learn-ing. The hybrid teaching allows our students and partici-pants to benefit from both the advantages of face-to-face courses and distance learning courses. The programme and the learning method in blended courses have been established for the sake of perfecting the teaching. The advantage offered by this type of training is a great flexibility while maintaining the effectiveness of the methodology. In other words, flexibility is accompanied by an interaction between teachers and participants. In addition, this type of training is well adapted to small budgets. With the hybrid courses UniVirtuelle is willing to enhance the educational effectiveness of our face-to-face and distance courses while adapting to the constraints of schedule participants. The face-to-face courses in hybrid learning are organized in group sessions planned in consultation with the schedule of the participants. Teaching materials are provided to participants in electronic format and sometimes multimedia (video, photos, Powerpoint, ...) format. Why to try a blended approach? Blended courses have proven to be the most appropriate method for students and professionals from private and public institutions. Because blended learning method allow students to take advantage of the flexibility and convenience of an online or distance course while retaining the benefits of the face-to-face classroom method.

For UniVirtuelle, blended learning can be part of a strategy to compensate limited classroom space, as well as a way to apply differently about method of education. For UniVirtuelle, blended learning can be a method to introduce new opportunities into established courses or, provide a transitional method between face-to-face and online or distance learning. For students, blended learning offers more advantages than distance learning. We are convinced that blended learning method combining online and face-to-face elements had more advantage to purely face-to-face method or purely distance learning. The distance pedagogic tools available in blended learning can also improve student progress and let the students to correct their errors and mistake or misunderstanding via the discussions with professors or other participants. Blended learning can result in improving student’s results and also allows the student to participate to workshops and practical courses. For all of those reasons, UniVirtuelle will establish in each department blended courses.

What are the benefits of our distance learning programme? Our distance learning courses present an effective way for students who are located far from our training centre, to be trained at their own rhythm and according to their availability and avoid the time and transportation costs. Are distance courses only theoretical? UniVirtuelle’s courses provide theoretical principles while giving you the opportunity to put them into practice.
