The C. Steinweg group based in Rotterdam since 1847 operates a global network of port facilities, terminals and warehouses. The Chemicals & Plastics division is part of this global network and has earned its tracks in Rotter-dam and Shanghai, but currently extends its business all over the world.
Throughout decades Steinweg Chemicals & Plastics division is a trusted partner in the field of chemical ware-housing, storage, handling and value added activities in both liquid and solid chemicals. As part of our strate-gy our focus is on developing tailor made industrial VAL solutions on broad variety of products. This includes amongst others: Filling services for liquid chemicals, repacking services from packed to bulk and vice versa, heated or cooled storage, steam heating and many more.
The strategy of the C. Steinweg Chemicals & Plastics division is aiming for strong growth in logistics services for the chemical industry. Steinweg’s ambition is to develop strongly in emerging markets such as China, India, Ma-laysia and Sub - Saharan Africa. All of our locations offer customs clearance, forwarding, bonded and non-bon-ded warehousing plus trucking services. We've developed into a 3PL provider of chemical logistics services, providing DG & non-DG trucking (RSQAS), non-bonded DG and non-bonded non-DG warehousing services for the chemical industry.
Introduction
Safety, health, environment and quality are highly important to C. Steinweg Group, especially when it comes to the storage of dangerous chemicals. To improve and maintain standards, C.Steinweg has developed its own Safety Control System which is rolled out on every chemical location. The basis for this system can be found in the SEVESO III guidelines for storage of chemicals in the European Union and is adapted to local situation where applicable.
Key point in this system is continues improvement and monitoring of achievements through a set of Safety KPI’s. C. Steinweg Chemical locations are accredited and assessed by the world’s leading accreditations such as ISO, SQAS and CDI.
SHEQ
All our operations are supported mainly by in-house developed IT systems to keep track of stocks, support value added service and create and file in- and outbound orders. We have vast experience in integrating customers ERP systems using the latest EDI techniques. All our data is stored on hardware maintained and protected by own IT staff and all datacenters are ISO 27001 certified.

Non - dangerous Chemicals & Plastics can be stored throughout almost the complete network of Steinweg facilities. Currently the focus on plastics is mainly in Shanghai, Nansha, Qingdao, Tianjin and Ningbo in China, Durban in South-Africa and Mersin and Istanbul in Turkey. South Korea, Peninsular Malaysia (Pasir Gudang, Port Klang) and Vietnam (Binh Duong, Hai Phong) are growing locations for this business.
