TAIHAN has served a pivotal role in establishing communication networks from backbone networks to

local loops both in Korea and major overseas markets. As demand of high capacity and high speed IT

expands recently, TAIHAN provides optimal communication environment where various information

can be delivered promptly and accurately based on our technology of producing high quality optical

fiber. TAIHAN will lead the ubiquitous environment with optimal solutions for communication infra from

backbone to FTTH network.

TAIHAN had led the development of optical fiber markets through continuous investment in technology and facility

since its first development in 1978. TAIHAN has produced optical fiber for VAD (Vapour - phase Axial Deposition)

method. TAIHAN has developed new products like zero water peak fiber for entire wavelength, NZ-DSF for 40Gbps

high-speed information, and bending loss insensitive fiber. With the development of holey fiber for FTTH in 2006, TAI-

HAN taking the lead in establishing the next generation IT network. Using such quality optical fiber, TAIHAN produce

and supply various kinds of optical cables for duct, aerial and direct buried.

Single Mode Optical Fiber (VAD Process)TAIHAN’s single mode optical fiber is manufactured by the vapour - phase axial deposition (VAD) proecss to produce the highest quality glass with excellent geometry, high strength characteristics and attenuation levelthat approaches the theoretical minimum, and designed to operate at 1310 nm and 1550 nm. Its optical prop-erties are achieved through a germanium doped silica core with a pure silica cladding. A dual acrylate pro-tective coating is applied over glass to provide the maximum fiber lifetime.

Zero Water Peak Single Mode Fiber (VAD Process)TAIHAN's Anywave single mode fiber (Zero water peak fiber) is manufactured by the vapour - phase axialdeposition (VAD) process to produce the highest quality glass with excellent geometry and high strengthcharacteristics. Anywave can be used in all wavelength from 1280 nm to 1620 nm because OH ion is per-fectly eliminated in specially designed manufacturing process. Anywave is reliable for any wavelengthdivision. Anywave enables customers to construct high performance network for data transmission in WDMsystem.

Bending Loss Insensitive Fiber ITU-T G.657 (VAD Process)TAIHAN's bending loss insensitive fiber (Strong Bend) manufactured by the vapour - phase axial deposition(VAD) process enables the use of the entire optical fiber spectrum (1280 nm~1625 ㎚ ) including 1360nm~1460 ㎚ due to a manufacturing process that virtually eliminates hydroxy (OH-) absorption in the fiber. It's low sensitivity to macrobending results in lower attenuation levels in the 1550 ㎚ and 1625 ㎚ wave-length region.

TAIHAN’s OPGW (Optical Fiber Ground Wire) series provide entirely new form of telecommunication line that is made

up of a ground wire for aerial power lines which contain optical fibers encased in an aluminum covered stainless steel

tube, aluminum tube or stainless steel tube. An OPGW combines a ground wire for shielding overhead power trans-

mission lines together with optical fibers for transmission of communication signals. The OPGW has been designed to

meet either the “Electrical”or the “Mechanical”equivalent of conventional ground wire such as resistance of strong

winds, lightning and short circuit current.

Field assembling connector can be assembleddirectly on 250um or 900um size of optical fiber byimproving the conventional mechanical jointing method.

It’s work efficiency is largely improved as the assem-bling is carried out simply and rapidly at site withoutgrinding optical fiber in the field. Additional tool is notrequired and wedge inside connector packing isused for assembling.

Optical Termination Box

The optical termination box is used for inter-connecting of optical fiber purpose at subscriber premisesindoor or outside of the home. Featuring mechnical and environmental protection for both fiber and itscomponents, it provides a transition point between outside plant cable and patch cords in fiber optic net-work. It is designed with controls that maintain the fiber bend radius throughout the unit on the segregatedcustomer and provider sides. For convenient cable management, they provide termination, splicing andstorage functions for fiber optic cable systems.

Optical Splicing Box

Optical splicing box is used to protect fiber optic splicing point from outside environment in various instal-lation conditions such as aerial, manholes, ducts and direct buried. It is specially designed for FTTH net-work and applicable to multi branching installation by using mid-plate which is for increasing core capac-ity and complying with the requirements in each point of network. The flat type gasket ensures reliablesealing performance by preventing air and water leak and the corn type sheath gasket is available toaccommodate varying size of cable diameter. The closure has high mechanical strength against any envi-ronmental conditions. With this closure, you can improve your network system to the higher level.
