BOOKER T. WASHINGTON HIGH SCHOOL DRESS CODE

2018-19 The following reflects the dress code that will be enforced during the 2018-19 school year. In accordance with the Uniform Dress Code Policy, students will be attired in the following: Shirts: Maroon, black or white polo (no baby doll shirts); maroon or white oxford shirt; long or short sleeve. Shirts must be tucked in at all times. Undershirts: White, maroon, or gold ONLY. Pants: Khaki, black, navy uniform pants; Capri’s are allowed; no low – riding or cargo pants allowed. Shorts: Khaki, black, navy shorts; no shorter than 4 inches above the knee; no low – riding or cargo shorts allowed. Skirts: Khaki, black, navy skirts; no shorter than 4 inches above the knee Socks: When worn, must be matching pair. Shoes: Must be matching pair; no house shoes, flip-flops, or sandals of any kind are allowed. Belts: Brown, black, white or clear ONLY; must be worn and visible at all times. Jackets: Black, Navy waist length jacket, approved BTW letterman jacket and approved BTW spirit pullover. Solid maroon, navy sweatshirt or sweater (no markings) is allowed. Spirit Attire: Booker T. BOYS/GIRLS OUTERWEAR:

Light weight sweaters or jackets which are worn in the classroom must be solid red, white, or

navy.

SHOES: ALL shoes must be closed in, NO BACKLESS SHOES, SANDALS, FLIP-FLOPS,

CROCS, OR BALLET FLATS MAY BE WORN.

SOCKS: Only white socks are permitted, and socks MUST be worn at all times. Leggings are

not permitted and all tights MUST be solid white.

BELTS: ALL students must wear a belt, only black, brown, or navy belts are acceptable.

ALL SHIRTS MUST BE TUCKED IN, AND ALL PANTS MUST BE WORN AT THE

WAIST. NO SAGGING!

EARRINGS:

Small studs or hoops for the girls.

UNIFORM POLICY

To meet dress code requirements, DBMS students must present themselves in the approved uniform. All shirts must be tucked in and the belt must be visible at all time. The administration shall make the final decision of

what is considered approved.

All students may wear the official DBMS Spirit Shirt any day of the week.

Spirit Groups (cheer, dance, flagline, band) and Athletic Teams (track, basketball, football, golf, softball) are allowed to wear their uniforms or special spirit shirt on game days or other days approved by the principal.

Club & House shirts are only allowed on Club/House days and other days approved by the principal.

Fairfield Elementary Magnet Uniform Policy

Parents, you may purchase uniforms at the store of your choice, but they must comply with our policy. Please examine items at Shreveport Gymnastics, Sports World, JCPenny, Sears, or Wal-Mart before you purchase anywhere else. Lands’ End also offers many of our uniform items. Our preferred school # is 9000-9743-7 and our logo number is 0459450K. The French Toast brand also carries our plaid.

Tops: • White oxford button-down shirts (short or long sleeve)• White or navy polo-style knit shirts (short or long sleeve)• Navy or white turtleneck- plain or ribbed to be worn under a uniform shirt• Girls may wear white middy blouses with plaid ties• White blouses with Peter Pan collars for girls• Any exposed “undershirts” must be solid navy or white.

Bottoms: Khaki pants, capris, jumpers, shorts, or skorts, uniform style only. Belts must be worn if the clothing has belt loops. Belt loops are not to be removed or cut from clothing. No part of the belt may be left hanging. Only kindergarten students are not required to wear belts. The belt color needs to brown or navy.

School Uniform Policy

To meet dress code requirements, students must present themselves in the approved uniform coordinates purchased from selected vendors. The uniform MUST be correct in size in order to avoid sagging or inappropriate appearance. Pants must not drag on the floor in a manner that mutilates or destroys the pants by stepping or tripping on them. All students MUST wear a belt with items of clothing that have loops.

The Caddo Parish School Board has established a dress code policy. The Parish guidelines must be adhered to as well as the requirements set at the school. Students will receive am Improper Uniform Referral each time they are not in uniform. Upon the third offense the student may be suspended.

SCHOOL UNIFORM POLICY 2018 – 2019 School Year

TOPS: • Red, White, or Black polo-style knit shirts (short or long sleeve). • White oxford button-down shirts (short or long sleeve). • White t-shirt or turtle neck can be worn underneath the above. • Girls may also wear white middy blouses with plaid skirts/skorts. BOTTOMS: • Khaki pants, shorts, skorts, jumpers, or capris. (Belt loops/carriers are not to be

removed from clothing). The belt must fit into entire loop/carrier and remain buckled. No part of the belt may be left hanging.

• Girls may wear approved red and navy blue plaid (#37) pleated skirts/ jumpers. • Pants must be uniform-style slacks. (No cargo pants, Dickies work clothes, overalls, jean

style pants, bell-bottoms, flares, etc.) • The length must follow the Caddo Parish School Board policy. • Only medium to dark shades of khaki will be acceptable; light sand or off-white will

Uniform Bottoms (Boys & Girls): (Pants, shorts, skorts, jumpers)

No corduroy, denim style, low rise pants, jeggings, jogger pants. Only basic school uniform bottoms are allowed

Khaki pants, shorts, skirts or skorts must be no shorter than 4 inches above the knee and no longer than the bottom of the knee.

Pants must not drag the floor. Students must be presented in a neat fashion with NO SAGGING.

Belts:

Belts are to be worn at the natural waist line. This applies for both boys and girls. The belt must fit into all of the belt loops and remain buckled/fastened at all times. The entire belt must be visible; therefore, shirts cannot blouse over the belt.

Shoes:

Shoes must be worn. Hosiery or socks are required with closed shoes. Backless shoes, flip flops, shower shoes, are not allowed.

Sweater/Jackets/Outerwear:

Coats may be any color. They must be zippered or button style. No pullovers, except North Highlands sweatshirt/hoodie.

Queensborough Leadership Academy Uniform Policy 2018-2019 • To meet dress code requirements, the students must present themselves in the approved regulation uniform coordinate or their

exact equivalents. All uniforms must be worn in the manner displays by the manufacturer.• No mutilation of any kind including tearing, ripping, or cutting of the cuffs, sleeves, or body of any of the coordinates. The

uniform must be correct in size to avoid any sagging or sloppy appearance. NO CARGO PANTS.• No visible manufacturer’s logos of any kind will be allowed on any uniform item including belts and socks. Ex. Nike sign, Polo,

Champs. Tennis/athletic shoes are the only exception.• Hoods may not be worn on the head while inside the building. All jackets must meet CPSB requirements. Uniform shirts must be

worn and tucked in under ALL jackets, windbreakers, sweaters, and/or sweatshirts. No jacket, sweater, etc. will be allowed to betied to the waist or around the neck or shoulders. In warm weather, the administration may require all outwear to be placed inthe locker after arrival at school. Any deviation from this may require a physician’s note.

• Plaid Items # 57 may be purchased at either Dollar Mania, Sports World or Shreveport Gymnastics. Our plaid is plaid #57. Allother items are carried at Sports World, Shreveport Gymnastics, Burlington, J. C. Penney's, Sears, Wal‐Mart and K‐Mart and Jmartas well as Pierre Bossier Mall Uniform Store.

• Pants, shorts, capris, and skorts for boys and girls should be "UNIFORM STYLE" only. These "UNIFORM" pieces can be purchased inthe "UNIFORM" section of the above mentioned stores.

• Cargo, carpenter, beige denim, low riders, hip hugger, bermuda and all other store brand/designer name brand shorts, skorts,and pants not part of our uniform.

• Knit Polo style shirts need to be "UNIFORM" type shirts, free of eyelet, laces, ruffles, etc.• Spirit Day: Students can only wear their Queensborough Embroidered Sweatshirts or Hoodies and School T-shirt.• The spirit shirts can be purchased at the school. 2018-2019

Appropriate dress enhances good behavior. Parents are responsible for the appropriateness of style, manner of dress, cleanliness, and neatness of their children.

Colors: Navy, hunter green, white, and light blue

Tops: Long or short sleeved Polo-style knit shirts. Timmons navy sweatshirt. Girls may wear white Peter Pan collar blouse or white middy blouse or an approved Timmons t-shirt.

Bottoms: Navy or khaki uniform style long pants or shorts. Girls may also wear capris, skirts, shorts, and plaid (81) navy or khaki jumpers. Skirts, shorts, skorts, jumpers must be “fingertip” length.

Belts: Belts must be worn with bottoms having belt loops. Exception: ECE and Kindergarten

Undershirts: Any long or short-sleeved solid uniform color

Outerwear: Any solid uniform color (jackets/coats, sweaters, pullovers) Any coat may be worn to school and placed in lockers. Outerwear (sweater, jackets) for use inside the classroom must be any solid uniform color.

Spirit Day: Spirit day will be observed each month on Pizza day and on specific days designated by the principal. Attire for that day can be blue jeans and a Timmons T-shirt or uniform shirt. Some grades or classes will earn extra Spirit Days because of attendance or behavior.

Field Day: Same as Spirit Day but may wear sunglasses and caps

NOTE: Field trips / Picture days / Special occasions the principal may suspend the uniform requirement. CPSB requirements will be followed: Spirit Day may be suspended at the discretion of the Principal. Students Uniform Policy

When our Cowboys and Cowgirls look good they feel good. When they feel good they are performing at their highest level!

To meet dress code requirements, the students must present themselves in the approved, regulation uniform coordinates or their exact equivalents.

Spirit Day: Students can only wear their WESTWOOD Embroidered Sweatshirts (Red or Blue), School T-shirt, and Live United T-Shirts. The spirit shirts can be purchased at the school.

Belts: Students MUST wear a belt unless the item does not require one. The belt must be a solid color: black, brown, plain or braided leather or canvas with a standard-size buckle. No decorations are allowed on the belt. The belt must fit into all the loops and remain buckled. No part of the belt may be hanging. The belt must be visible at all times.

Socks: Matching black, white, navy, or khaki socks may be worn. No neon colored socks are to be worn.

Shoes: Style and color of shoes may be chosen by the student as long as they follow the Caddo Parish Dress Code Rules. No beach, pool or house shoes, which are made from rubber or foam rubber, are allowed. Sandals are not permitted. All shoes with laces, straps, or buckles must be tied or secured at all times.

Jacket Styles Allowed: Cardigan sweaters, windbreakers, jackets/coats (with or without hoods). Uniform shirts must be worn and tucked in under ALL jackets, windbreakers, sweaters, and or sweatshirts. No Jacket, sweater, etc. will be allowed to be tied to the waist or around the neck or shoulders.

YOUREE DRIVE MIDDLE AP MAGNET UNIFORM POLICY

TOPS: White or navy polo-style knit shirts (short or long sleeve); white oxford button-down shirts (short or long sleeve). Plain white, navy, black, or grey t-shirts or turtlenecks may be worn underneath these shirts. White middy blouses with plaid ties may also be worn by girls. The white middy blouse may be worn untucked. All other shirts must be tucked in and the belt must be visible at all times. Logos on tops must not exceed 2x2 inch. Additionally, students may wear any approved YDMS spirit shirts.

BOTTOMS: Khaki or navy pants, shorts, skorts or skirts (for girls). Approved blue plaid #134-57 pleated skirts for girls. Pants must be uniform style and school appropriate. Solid colored tights may be worn under shorts and skirts of appropriate length.

LENGTH: Skirts, skorts, and shorts must be no shorter than 4” above the top of the knee. Pants must not drag the floor and should sit on the natural waist of the student. TIGHTNESS: Students must be able to pinch one inch on the side of all shorts, skirts, skorts, and pants. Excessively tight and stretch pants are not allowed.

BELTS: Students are required to wear a belt with any bottoms that have belt loops. Belt loops may not to be removed from clothing. Oversized belt buckles are not allowed.

SHOES AND SOCKS: Students may choose the style and color of shoes and socks. They should coordinate with the uniform and not attract undue attention. Flip-flops, backless shoes, and house shoes are not acceptable; shoes must have heel support for safety reasons. Additionally, all shoes must be tied or fastened.

OUTERWEAR: Waist-length jackets and coats are acceptable at school. No trench coats or oversized coats will be allowed. If the jacket/coat is not an approved solid color (navy, gray, white, or black) or an approved YDMS jacket, it must be removed after arriving at school. Blankets may not be worn to school in place of a jacket or coat. Any plain navy, gray, white, or black sweater/sweatshirt/vest/hoodie is acceptable if worn over an approved school shirt. Sweatshirts and hoodies with the YDMS logo may be purchased from the PTSA. All other logos must not exceed 3x3 inches. No hoods may be worn in the building.

SCHOOL IDs: All students are required to wear a school ID each day. One school ID will be provided free of charge to each incoming student. Misplaced IDs may be replaced for $5.00 in the library. Temporary IDs may be purchased for $1.00 each morning in the auxiliary gym. All IDs, including temporary IDs, must be worn on the outside of the student’s shirt and be visible at all times.

Uniforms must be worn to all school-sponsored activities (football games, basketball games, track meets, dances, etc.) unless otherwise approved and announced by the principal.

Spirit Groups (Pep Squad, Cheerleaders, Dance line) will be allowed to wear their uniforms on game days and other days approved by the principal.

All uniforms must be worn in the manner meant by the manufacturer. This means that there will be no ripping or cutting of hems, cuffs, sleeves, or bodies of the coordinates. Simple hemming of sleeve, slack, or skirt length may be made, but be aware of the growth factor. Due to the rapid growth of middle school children, clothing worn in the fall may not be acceptable in the spring.

Hair should be clean and combed so as to permit full vision at all times. Headwear such as hair rollers, combs, brushes, sunglasses, bandannas, hoods, and caps are prohibited. No chains or other heavy jewelry will be allowed.

No mode of student appearance will be considered proper for school that detracts from or disrupts the classroom and/ or the school decorum. The principal (or designee) of the school shall make the final decision of what is considered proper or improper appearance.

Piercings in the ears are the ONLY acceptable piercing for students. No other visible piercings will be allowed.

Sweaters/Jackets/Outerwear: Coats may be any color. They must be zippered or button type. No pullovers, except the Broadmoor sweatshirt/hoodie.

DRESS CODE POLICY Students are to dress in apparel or jewelry that is modest or tasteful and corresponds with CPSB dress code requirements. Students are not to wear jewelry or any clothing that may present a health problem or create a disturbance in school. It is the responsibility of the student to be familiar with the current dress code. All garments showing previous area school mascots or school names are prohibited. North Caddo Elementary Middle School or North Caddo Magnet High School will be the only schools that may be worn in the form of “Spirit Wear” unless special wear days are announced (i.e. NFL day, NBA day, or collegiate sports day, etc.) Shirts: Students may wear NCEMS sponsored shirts or any other shirt that follows CPSB guidelines. All shirts must completely cover the upper body. Midriffs or see through shirts are not permitted. White undershirts may only be worn under other shirts. Girls and boys must tuck in all tailed shirts and wear a belt. Bottoms: Pants, shorts, skorts, skirts, jumpers. Length: Skirts, skorts, shorts, and jumpers should be no shorter than four (4) inches above the knee. Sagging, designer labels larger than a business card, bell bottoms, cargo style pants with large pockets on legs, or distressed, or ripped, jeans/pants are NOT permitted. In addition, rolled up pants legs will not be permitted. In accordance with CPSB policy—pants are worn at the waist and all students must wear a belt. Belts: Visible, buckled, fit into loops and required for all tucked in shirts. Shoes/Socks: As a safety measure, all shoes must be a closed style of shoe. Closed means there is a secure back on the shoe.(Flip flops, slide-on sandals, beach, pool, or house shoes not allowed.) Shoe laces must be tied. Jackets: Windbreakers, sweaters, and sweatshirts may be worn in the classroom (No hoods on head inside building). Colors: Any color jacket/coat/sweater may be worn as long as it does not show names of other schools or mascots. An NCEMS jacket may be worn at any time. Styles Allowed: Cardigan sweaters, windbreakers jackets/coats (with or without hoods), sweatshirts/pullovers. Other items: Solid white T-shirts may only be worn under another shirt. NO P.E. uniforms are to be worn. Headgear: Hats/caps/bandanas are not acceptable; except under direction of administration. Boys may wear small earrings, studs only. Not allowed: Large ear studs, large medallion type necklaces, chain necklaces, and large hoop earrings. No body piercing jewelry is permitted. NOT Allowed: Trench coats, starter style jackets, oversized jackets/coats/bubble jackets or coats, and logos larger than a business card. Jeans: Jeans, any color, are to meet CPSB dress code requirements. Distressed, or ripped, jeans/pants are NOT permitted. NO holes/frayed cuffs. INAPPROPRIATE DESIGNS ON POCKETS OR DESIGNS RUNNING DOWN THE LEG ARE NOT ALLOWED!

RIDGEWOOD MIDDLE SCHOOL DRESS CODE

Effective August 2016, the dress code requirements for the student uniforms at Ridgewood Middle School are as follows: Tops: Students will be required to wear polo shirts designated for their grade: White (for 6th graders), Columbia Blue (for 7th graders), and Navy (for 8th graders). The shirts must be polo-styled three button knit shirts. Long or short sleeve shirts are acceptable. A white t-shirt or white turtleneck may be worn underneath these shirts. T-shirts and turtleneck shirts must be plain white with no lettering or graphics. Bottoms: Khaki or navy pants, or shorts for boys and girls. Khaki or navy skorts, pleated skirts, capris, or A-line skirts for girls. Only medium to dark shades of khaki will be acceptable; light sand, off white, or brown are not acceptable. Approved blue plaid #57 pleated skirts for girls. Pants must be uniform style slacks—no cargo pants (large pockets, or pockets with flaps, on the pant legs), jean style pants, bell-bottoms, or flare bottoms. Length: Skirts, skorts, and shorts must be no shorter than 4” above the top of the knee, and no longer than the bottom of the knee. The A-line skirt is worn mid-calf to ankle-length. Pants must not drag the floor. Belts: Plain solid color belts are to be worn with bottoms that have belt loops. Belts must not have any design or graphics on them. Belt buckles should not be oversized and should be restricted to the buckle that came with the belt (not larger than 2 inches). Belt loops are not to be removed from clothing. The belt must fit in all belt loops, remain buckled and no part of the belt may be left hanging. Shoes and Socks: Shoes must have close toes. Shoes must be leather or canvas with backs and closed toes. Students may wear tennis shoes; however thongs, sandals and mesh shoes are not acceptable. Shoes with laces must be laced appropriately—Velcro shoes or other types of fasteners must be fastened as designed. Laces must be white or black. Solid colored socks or stockings that cover the entire foot and are visible must be worn as a part of the uniform. No socks with cartoon characters, multi-stripes or patterns will be allowed. No boots of any style are allowed. Outerwear: Solid navy hip-length jackets or coats hooded or unhooded. Hoods must be removed from the head upon entering the building. Uniform jackets are the only style of jacket that may be worn to school. Sweatshirts: A navy sweatshirt with the RMS logo or a plain navy sweatshirt with no lettering or graphics can be worn. It may be worn over any uniform top.

Headwear such as hair rollers, combs, sunglasses, bandannas or scarves, and caps are prohibited. Due to safety concerns, no chains or other heavy jewelry will be allowed. Students may wear one bracelet per arm. Earrings for girls should not exceed the size of a quarter. Boys may only wear studs no bigger than 1 quarter of an inch.

8. Girls may bring purses no larger than 8 x 10 inches. 9. This policy is in agreement with the Caddo Parish dress code. The school

faculty and administration will enforce any part of the published dress code policy of the Caddo Parish School Board that is not specifically covered in this document.

10. Any article that distracts from the education of students may be regulated by the administration. 11. Principals, after consultation with the School Improvement Committee, have the discretion to adjust the dress code to fit unique situations as long as the decision does not interfere with the requirements of Title IX. Please help us support neatness and good grooming to promote an educational atmosphere conducive to learning. Our expectations are that a cooperative and positive attitude will prevail.

Queensborough Leadership Academy Uniform Policy 2019-2020 To meet dress code requirements, the students must present themselves in the approved regulation uniform coordinate or their

exact equivalents. All uniforms must be worn in the manner displays by the manufacturer.

No mutilation of any kind including tearing, ripping, or cutting of the cuffs, sleeves, or body of any of the coordinates. The uniform must be correct in size to avoid any sagging or sloppy appearance. NO CARGO PANTS.

No visible manufacturer’s logos of any kind will be allowed on any uniform item including belts and socks. Ex. Nike sign, Polo,

Champs. Tennis/athletic shoes are the only exception.

Hoods may not be worn on the head while inside the building. All jackets must meet CPSB requirements. Uniform shirts must be

worn and tucked in under ALL jackets, windbreakers, sweaters, and/or sweatshirts. No jacket, sweater, etc. will be allowed to be

tied to the waist or around the neck or shoulders. In warm weather, the administration may require all outwear to be placed in

the locker after arrival at school. Any deviation from this may require a physician’s note.

Plaid Items # 57 may be purchased at either Dollar Mania, Sports World or Shreveport Gymnastics. Our plaid is plaid #57. All

other items are carried at Sports World, Shreveport Gymnastics, Burlington, J. C. Penney's, Sears, Wal‐Mart and K‐Mart and Jmart

as well as Pierre Bossier Mall Uniform Store.

Pants, shorts, capris, and skorts for boys and girls should be "UNIFORM STYLE" only. These "UNIFORM" pieces can be purchased in

the "UNIFORM" section of the above mentioned stores.

Cargo, carpenter, beige denim, low riders, hip hugger, bermuda and all other store brand/designer name brand shorts, skorts,

and pants not part of our uniform.

Knit Polo style shirts need to be "UNIFORM" type shirts, free of eyelet, laces, ruffles, etc.

Spirit Day: Students can only wear their Queensborough Embroidered Sweatshirts or Hoodies and School T‐shirt.

The spirit shirts can be purchased at the school. (T‐Shirts= $10.00 and Sweatshirts=$25.00)

Students Uniform Policy

When our Cowboys and Cowgirls look good they feel good. When they feel good they are performing at their highest level! To meet dress code requirements, the students must present themselves in the approved, regulation uniform coordinates or their exact equivalents.

Boy's and Girl’s Tops: Red Polo shirts, short or long sleeved White or Red Oxford shirts, short or long sleeved Boy's Bottoms: Khaki or Navy pants, shorts (belt loops on pants and shorts) Belts - Brown or Black (No LARGE BELT BUCKLES) Girl's Bottoms: Khaki or Navy pants, shorts, capris, skirts, or jumpers

Khaki or Navy pants or shorts must have belt loops. NO leggings! *Plaid items may be purchased. Our plaid is #37. Belts: Students MUST wear a belt unless the item does not require one. The belt must be a solid color: black, brown, plain or braided leather or canvas with a standard-size buckle. No decorations are allowed on the belt. The belt must fit into all the loops and remain buckled. No part of the belt may be hanging. The belt must be visible at all times. Shoes: Style and color of shoes may be chosen by the student as long as they follow the Caddo Parish Dress Code Rules. No beach, pool or house shoes, which are made from rubber or foam rubber, are allowed. Sandals are not permitted. All shoes with laces, straps, or buckles must be tied or secured at all times. Jacket Styles Allowed: Cardigan sweaters, windbreakers, jackets/coats (with or without hoods). Uniform shirts must be worn and tucked in under ALL jackets, windbreakers, sweaters, and or sweatshirts. No Jacket, sweater, etc. will be allowed to be tied to the waist or around the neck or shoulders.

SCHOOL UNIFORM POLICY 2019 – 2020 School Year

TOPS: • Red, White, or Black polo-style knit shirts (short or long sleeve). • White oxford button-down shirts (short or long sleeve). • White t-shirt or turtle neck can be worn underneath the above. • Girls may also wear white middy blouses with plaid skirts/skorts. BOTTOMS: • Khaki pants, shorts, skorts, jumpers, or capris. (Belt loops/carriers are not to be

removed from clothing). The belt must fit into entire loop/carrier and remain buckled. No part of the belt may be left hanging.

• Girls may wear approved red and navy blue plaid (#37) pleated skirts/ jumpers. • Pants must be uniform-style slacks. (No cargo pants, Dickies work clothes, overalls, jean
