Cultural Understanding and Leadership Program (CULP)

The Battalion held Zero Week training to welcome returning Cadets and introduced new Cadets to the

program. The day was filled with food, fun and vital information for parents and new

Cadets from the cadre. A parent and Cadet orientation was held that focused on providing parents and

Cadets with an introduction to Army ROTC as well as provided information to aid in the transition from

high school to college and the ROTC program.

Kansas State Army ROTC Cadets had the opportunity to participate in CULP this summer. These

opportunities expose them to everyday life in different cultures and intensifies language study. This aids in

the training of commissioned officers who possess the right combination of language and cultural skills.

The Battalion conducted their annual history run around Kansas State University campus. Cadets paid

tribute and remembered the military members who served the United States of America and honored

those service members who made the ultimate sacrifice. Kansas State Army ROTC history dates back

to 1863 when the University was founded. From the start of WWI to present day, approximately three-

hundred and thirty-five KSU students and alumni were called to duty and were either killed in action or

missing in action.
