EVENT SPACES One of the exciting features in Terra Square will be the availability of three unique event spaces that can be rented for a variety of public and private events such as graduation parties, fitness classes, trainings, and art shows. In total, there will be over 7,300 square feet in available rental space. THE GATHERING SPACE The primary event space is roughly 4,200 square feet of re- purposed industrial space with glazed brick walls, large met- al-framed windows, and pol- ished concrete floors. It is an- ticipated that this space will be rented by the community for graduation parties, trainings, group fitness classes, and art classes. It will likely accommo- date up to 125 guests*. INDOOR MARKET SPACE In addition to the gathering space, the 1,500 square foot indoor market area, will also be available for use on non-market days. This area could either be combined with the the gathering space to create one large event space area, or it could be used on its own for smaller, more intimate events such as a birthday party, cooking class, or baby shower. This space could likely accomodate up to 50 people.* *Guest accommodation estimates are not yet finalized A new space that will be open to the public in June of 2017. Terra Square will feature several unique spaces and resources available to the Hudsonville community including a new home for the farmer’s market, a café/ bistro or coffee shop, spaces available to rent for community or private events, and a co-work area open to local entrepreneurs and small business owners. FARMERS MARKET First and foremost, Terra Square will serve as the new, permanent home for the Hudsonville Farmer’s Market. Terra Square will offer both indoor and outdoor market vendor space which will provide a more unique market experience and will also allow for a longer market season with more variety in products. OUTDOOR MARKET On market days, the Terra Square parking lot will be transformed into an outdoor farmer’s market venue buzzing with activity. Market goers will be able to shop for fresh fruits and vegetables under the shade and shelter of permanent outdoor canopy structures. INDOOR MARKET Inside Terra Square will be another 1,500 square feet of indoor market vendor space. During the summer months, the large garage doors to this space can be opened up to let the fresh air in. The indoor market space will also allow vendors to extend their season well into the wintertime, providing an incredible venue and experience for families to purchase their pumpkins, wreaths, Christmas trees, and other seasonal products. CAFÉ/BISTRO/COFFEE SHOP Terra Square will include space for at least one permanent food vendor. While no specific vendor or vendors have yet been identified, the ability to grab a bite to eat or a gourmet coffee at Terra Square will enhance the experience. The project team is actively seeking a quality café, bakery, or restaurant to operate out of approximately 1,400 square feet near the main entrance. The café would generally be open to the public throughout the week for breakfast, lunch, etc., as well as on market days to better serve the community. COURTYARD SPACE Another creative feature at Terra Square will be a 1,600 square foot outdoor courtyard that is accessible via the big room and from the outdoor farmer’s market. This cozy garden space can be utilized for outdoor eating during the day, or as accessory space during a nighttime wedding or party. It can also be rented out separately for a garden party, birthday party or other small gathering. MORE EVENT SPACE COWORK SPACE There is also an opportunity in Terra Square to create public office, conference room, and co-work space, which could be made available to community partners, residents, and entrepreneurs. This space will provide basic work-space amenities to users in need of flexible, off-site and on-the-go work space for conducting research, meetings, phone calls, etc. Co-work space “memberships” are even being explored for access on a more regular basis.
