Curriculum
PRIDE Persistence – Responsibility – Independence – Discipline – Enthusiasm)
This year has seen us singing both verses of our National Anthem during school assemblies, and so to help you and your child learn the words I have included them in this week’s newsletter.
Being able to sing our National Anthem is another way our students and school community demonstrate PRIDE –in themselves, being a part of our CPS community, and being a “good citizen”.
As adults it is important that we model the behaviours and expectations we have for children, so please feel free to join us at Assembly and sing our anthem with pride!
Our next school assembly is Friday 12th June.
The staff at CPS has been working with the students on developing PRIDE as a part of their learning. Students completed activities at the start of the year to understand what each of the words meant, (Persistence – Responsibility – Independence – Discipline – Enthusiasm) the behaviours that reflect/demonstrate each of them, and how each of the values develops pride.
Student of the Week certificates are awarded to students that demonstrate PRIDE and feedback is continuously given to students when they exhibit these values.
Discussions at home regarding PRIDE would help to reinforce the behaviours and expectations we wish to see demonstrated at school, as well as reinforcing those same behaviours at home.

SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR Congratulations to our Book Fair raffle winners Jaylan JCM Joel MSG Chelsea JTK
Thank you for your support of the Book Fair. Sales exceeded $1,723
This provides us with $430 worth of books for our school library.
On the 27th May, Cranbourne Primary School held an Open Night and Art Show. It was great to see so many parents and students coming through to appreciate all the hard work that the students have been putting in this semester during their Art sessions. From optical illusions to watercolour paintings, we had it all! These artworks are still up along the corridor and in the art room if you would still like to come in and view these works!
RANGOLIS
Students in the Middle School have been
looking at Celebrations around the world.
As part of their Art works, students are
designing their own Rangoli patterns,
which are used as part of Diwali
celebrations. Students used coloured salt
to add to their finished designs. We can’t
wait to see these once they are complete!
BUBBLES Students in the Junior Learning Community have
been exploring the features of bubbles! We have
been learning about reflection, colour and
transparency. We then began to draw our own
bubble creations. These look fabulous, and Miss
Radford had a lot of fun blowing the bubbles for
students to pop!
AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL ANTHEM
Australians all let us rejoice,
For we are young and free;
We’ve golden soil and wealth for toil;
Our home is girt by sea;
Our land abounds in nature’s gifts
Of beauty rich and rare;
In history’s page, let every stage
Advance Australia Fair.
In joyful strains then let us sing,
Advance Australia Fair.
Beneath our radiant Southern Cross
We’ll toil with hearts and hands;
To make this Commonwealth of ours
Renowned of all the lands;
For those who’ve come across the seas
We’ve boundless plains to share;
With courage let us all combine
To Advance Australia Fair.
In joyful strains then let us sing,
Advance Australia Fair.
