About the JouSSot-DubIen AwArD

this award has been created to honor the life of Professor Jacques Joussot-Dubien (1928-2009), director of enSCbP - bordeaux InP from 1982 to 1986 in recognition of his very important impact on the future development of the graduate school as well as his actions in favor of international scientific exchanges. he was not only the key figure in establishing a graduate school closely connecting Chemistry and Physics, but also an outstanding scientist with the highest national and international recognition especially in the field of photochemistry. having himself performed a large part of his studies abroad (bachelor of Science in Chemistry at Swarthmore College, Pennsylvania in 1949, followed later by a post-doc at the brooklyn Polytechnic Institute, new York) he was always very open for hosting foreign students either at the gra-duate school or in his research laboratory. It is therefore more than natural that this award carries his name and will in this way contribute to keep alive the memory of an exceptional person.
