United Nations Universal Children’s Day was established in 1954 and is celebrated on 20th November each year to promote international togetherness, awareness among children worldwide, and improving children's welfare.Mothers and fathers, teachers, nurses and doctors, government leaders, religious and community elders, corporate moguls and media professionals as well as young people and children themselves can play an important part in making Universal Children's Day relevant for their societies, communities and nations.
Universal Children's Day offers each of us an inspirational entry-point to advocate, promote and celebrate children's rights, translating into dialogues and actions that will build a better world for Children. http://www.un.org/en/events/childrenday/.

Zero2 Expo aims to bring together artists and researchers to work collaboratively, to generate awareness of children and to create a world where by every child has the best possible start in life. This inspiring, striking and thought provoking showcase launched in the Houses of Parliament in London in June 2016, will be staged this year in the United Arab Emirates, followed by other leading international cities between now and 2020.
The Zero2 Expo, initiative offers an exciting, leading edge exhibition synergising art and research that will stimulate new approaches in how we treat babies from conception onwards. We aim to engage with the community to embrace these new ideas and excite key stakeholders to become involved and take action in the 1001 Critical Days Agenda. The 1001 Critical Days, the UK’s first cross-party children's manifesto, which highlights the importance of acting early during the time between conception to age two period. This time period is a window of opportunity for the implemen-tation of vital changes which could lead to improved outcomes for children and have a protective and transformative impact on their lives.
CALL FOR ABSTRACTS/PROPOSALS
The project committee is delighted to announce it is seeking proposals from artists and researchers who relate to the brief of the 1001 Critical Days Manifesto http://www.andrewmayers.info/assets/1001-days_n-ov15-(00000002).pdf and the United Nations Universal Children’s Day.
Artists and Researchers are invited to submit an abstract (Researchers) or proposal (Artists) responding to one of the following themes, to be showcased in this innovative exhibition of
Art and Research.
How to Apply
Please send the following documents in English or Arabic to [email protected]• 200 word proposal• 2 jpeg images of existing work (with titles, description, media and dimensions) • a short 200 word biography • 1 page resume Note:All creative media is accepted: painting, collage, illustration, sculpture, photography, digital art, film/video, installation, calligraphy, weaving, and poetry. One final piece of art work per artist will be accepted. Art projects along with a short CV from the artist will also be published in the ZERO2 EXPO guide

ABSTRACT / PROPOSAL SUBMISSION DETAILS
A panel of experts will select specific research abstracts and match them with the artists, providing a written agreement. The artist and researcher will work collaboratively to develop a unique piece of art in relation to the research to be showcased at this presti-gious exhibition. The researcher can support the artist through conversations and by sending them additional pieces of research, as required. The art work and research pieces will also be featured in the catalogue and website and will inform other key conversation that will run parallel to the Expo.
Steering CommitteeExhibited Art Work and its creative process will offer inspiring, transforming and stimulating dialogue, next to thought provoking abstracts that promises to engage a multigenerational audience and other researchers and creative partners.
