Grow Group Sign Up Begins Date: September 6

Our Grow Group ministry is designed to effectively shepherd and disciple everyone who considers LBC their home. It is our desire to create a context where four things can happen:

CONNECT: Help people build close, edifying relationships.

COUNSEL: Help people understand and apply God’s Word to their lives.

CHANGE: Help people along the path of spiritual maturity.

CARE: Help people to practice the “one anothers” of Scripture.

There is no better way to grow in your relationship with Jesus Christ than by being in a dynamic discipleship environment provided by a Grow Group.

WOL Sign Up Begins Date: August 16

Word Of Life Club is our Wednesday night Children’s Program for Pre-K through 6th Grade that runs during the school year. The goal is to evangelize and disciple children by focusing on

three primary areas in a child’s life -- Quiet Time, Scripture Memory, and Christian Service. We encourage every parent to have their children involved in WOL this coming Fall. If you would like to help minister to the children as part of the WOL Team, please contact Ken Parkin at (281) 743-3302.

Biblical Counseling If you or someone you know would benefit from Biblical Counseling, please call the church office at (936) 582-1977.

Benevolence If you would like to help meet the needs within our body for those who are experiencing financial difficulties, please indicate “benevolence” with your contribution. If you are aware of any specific benevolence needs within the body please contact the following Deacons;  Steve Dwyer, Donald Avery, or Mark Sanderson.

LBC Kids Ministry We have some key volunteer needs in the LBC Kids Ministry that we need your help with! Please prayerfully consider jumping in to care for and shepherd the souls of all these children God has brought to Lakeside. If you are interested in helping, please contact the Church Office. Here is a list of our specific needs:

- 1 Person for Toddler Care (18 months - 3 years of age) -  Once every 5 weeks during Worship Service

- 1 Teaching Team of two for Preschool (3 & 4 year olds) -  Once every 5 weeks during Worship Service

- 1 Teaching Team of two for Children’s Church (1st grade) -  Once every 5 weeks during Worship Service

- 5 Teaching Teams of two for Children’s Church (2nd grade) -  Once every 5 weeks during the Worship Service

- 1 Person for Toddler Care (18 months - 3 years of age) -  Once every 5 weeks on Wednesday Nights

Proverbs 23:24 says, "The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice, and he who sires a wise son will be glad in him." But how is it that in spite of God's design for children to bring joy, happiness, contentment, satisfaction, and love to their parents, they so often become a heartbreak instead? Marriages and families that ought to be filled with peace, joy, and contentment are more often characterized by conflict, intimidation, and estrangement. Homes tend to be war zones rather than havens. We are raising a generation of people exposed to an evil sun, unprotected by any kind of proper, God-ordained standard of living.

Train up your child with all tenderness, affection, and patience. I do not mean that you are to spoil him, but I do mean that you should let him see that you love him. Love should be the silver thread that runs through all your conduct. Kindness, gentleness, long-suffering, forbearance, patience, sympathy, a willingness to enter into childish troubles, a readiness to take part in childish joys, — these are the cords by which a child may be led most easily, — these are the clues you must follow if you would find the way to his heart. -J.
