Hello friends! Welcome to the third issue of “Calvin’s Corner”!
Whaaat? Another Calvin’s Corner? So Soon? Yes! This is a special CC because 1) No one submitted anything 2) It’s just a vehicle for me to explain what Publications is while using a Publication!
What’s in this issue? This issue focuses on what Publications is hollisticly. We will discuss my position specifciations, the different types of publications, the procress of submissions, and the hashtag #ucbcki.
This is really just a short, cute issue, so I don’t have much to say. Please just be nice, respectful, and attentive to not just my committee meeting, but others as well.
Watch out for an official release/announcement of the rewards system 3rd or 4th gen! Also, encourage others to submit things because it makes our community’s communication that much stronger.

THE DUTIES OF PUBLICATIONS EDITOR IS AS FOLLOWS
> Create informative and appealing newsletters > Encourage members to contribute to the newsletters > Submit articles to the district and international newsletters > Keep members updated and informed through a blog, digest, etc > Hold weekly committee meetings
WHAT IS PUBLICATIONS
All chairs have various duties they are all generally
responsible for. Each chair then has specific responsbilties
correlating to their position.

THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF PUBLICATIONS ARE AS FOLLOWS
CAL KRONICLEThis publication looks more like a
traditional newsletter and are published seasonal. You can catch these in print at
first-gen’s and banquets!
CALVIN’S CORNERThis publication is online only (yay for the environment!) and are published about
once a month. They talk about anything and everything!
UCBCKI BLOGThis publication isn’t in major use yet,
but members will soon be able to submit articles in a Buzzfeed-esque style to the
blog portion of the website (ucbcki.org).
BULLETINThis publication hasn’t been made yet,
but it is planned to accompany the weekly emails with information.
WHAT ARE THE PUBLICATIONS
Publications are a form of communication for our club internally. It’s a place to reflect on past events, advertise new ones, recognize outstanding members, and talk about anything else happening in our community.
The committee will focus on the creation of these publications from infographics to color palettes. No experience is necessary and everyone is welcome!
SUBMISSIONS and the reward system for them
Submissions is a vital part to the publication process. Without submissions, there would be no content to put these together! One editor can’t come up with all these articles and photos alone ;~; So! In order to encourage members to submit more content (and in a more timely manner) I have created a rewards system as described below.There are 3 types of submissions I will be counting for each publication.1) Articles // These are event articles on things like Cazadero or Karma Kitchen2) Photos // These are to accompany articles or cover publications in general3) Funsies // These are for special prompts I give such as “Tips & Tricks” or “TBTs”
Level One // 3+
Free admission to an end-of-the-year Publication’s party (held during committee time) full of food, drinks, snacks, and fun!
Level Two // 7+
Boba of your choice as well as a free 30 minute photoshoot block* (could include friends)!
*could exchange block for a mini tsum tsum
Level Three // 15+
More Boba, featured page/section in the newsletter, and a large Tsum Tsum of choice!
Submission Rewards Levels are cumulative!
