• Cambodia has a land area of 181,035 Km2 in southwestern part of the East Asia peninsular, about 20 percent of which is used for agriculture.
• The country’s Capital city is Phnom Penh, which is located in central Cambodia. The International borders are closed to Thailand on the west, the Lao People’s Democratic Republic on the north, and the socialist Republic of Vietnam on the east and southeast. The country is bounded on the southwest by the Gulf of Thailand.
• The population size in 2019 about 16,289,270 (Male about 8,014,562 and female 8,274,708)
• The GDP Per capita in 2016 is US$1,330
• Cambodia Poverty Rate is 13.5% in 2014
The National Institute of Statistics, Ministry of Planning is the one agency that has the duties for data collection for primary data and secondary data. The primary data has collected from Censuses and Surveys based on statistical law as following:
A. Data Collection for census is made every ten years:
1. General Population Census of Cambodia in 1998, 2008 and 2019
2. Economic Census in 2011
3. Agriculture Census in 2013
B. Surveys:
1. Cambodia Socio-Economic Survey is made yearly
2. Inter-censal Survey every 5 years
3. Demographic and Health Survey every 5 years
4. Other surveys (Labor force, Woman and Child abuse)
are also surveyed.

Real observation by contacting Provincial planning department

A few ICT Indicators has been put in the Population Census and Socio-economic survey
No fund support to conduct the ICT Survey
Indicators have collected from Census, Survey and Ministry of Post and Telecommunication cannot respond to ITU requested
Capacity building of staff is limited
Need technical assistance and financial support from donors as possible
Prepare the ICT Survey budget workplan propose to government and other donor
To insert some core ICT indicators into census or other survey as possible
