Main St., Waupun, WI Gymanfa Ganu Revived in Iowa On July 10, 2016, the First Welsh Congregational Church on Old Man’s Creek will hold a gymanfa and Welsh tea. The event marks 170 years since the founding of the church in 1846! Although the church membership and its gymanfa have surged and waned over the years, the “Little Welsh Church on the Hill” and its adjacent Welsh Pioneer Cemetery have been loved and cared for by descendants of the first members. Now the descendents have decided to resurrect its gymanfa and hopefully continue it in the coming years. On July 10 th there will be the usual church service at 10:00 a.m. followed by a traditional Welsh Tea with Welsh cakes. The gymanfa will start at 1:00. A number of Welsh-themed items will be for sale during the day, including reprints of the original Stan Haring picture done for Dorothy (Tudor) Carran many years ago. For more information, contact Conni (Tudor) Lynch (319) 631-0171 or Kelli Rozinek (319) 321-7924. Sharon Center Rd. off Hwy. 1!
