1 Introduction

1 IntroductionThis manual explains how to use SHIMANO Camera Editor.

To make the best use of this software’s functions, read this manual thoroughly before use.

x Check the connection before loading video files from SPORT CAMERA. Never connect or disconnect the cable

from the camera until you finish working and exit SHIMANO Camera Editor. Otherwise, a malfunction may

occur.

x Never modify the contents or names of firmware files.

If this is not observed, it may become impossible to update the firmware or cause trouble in the unit after the

firmware is updated.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

x After reading the user's manual thoroughly, keep it in a safe place for later reference.

x Observe laws and regulations when using our software. We shall not be held liable for any trouble, loss, or

damage arising from the use of our software.

PRECAUTIONS FOR USE

x When connecting the camera, do so directly to a USB port of the computer, and not via a USB hub or similar

device.

x Playback of videos downloaded from websites, such as video hosting sites, may not be possible with this

application.

x The video editing function may take a while to complete video conversion, depending on the specifications of

your computer.

x Videos cannot be reedited using this application once converted.

2 About SHIMANO Camera EditorSHIMANO Camera Editor is application software that allows you to edit videos recorded by Shimano SPORT

CAMERA.

2.1 Downloading the applicationVisit the support website http://www.shimano-sportcamera.com/ to download the application.

2.2 Supported unit SPORT CAMERA: CM-2000/CM-1100/CM-1000

Correcting video Converting fisheye video to flat video and changing the screen orientation

Combining video and

relevant dataConverting CSV data collected by sensors and combining the data with the video

Undo the last operation.

Redo the undone operation.

3Convert and Save Video

Click to display the output fi le window. In this window, select [Open] to specify the path to which

the fi le is saved and click [OK] to start conversion.

* Undo and redo can be used for project operations.

2 [Rotate]Rotate the video 90° to the right or left each time you click.

This option is effective only for videos that were recorded

* Click the mouse on the original or edited video timeline to switch between the original and edited

4 Playback control buttons

Jump to FirstJump to the beginning of the video

IN/OUT point Jump (return)Jump to the last IN or OUT point during playback.

Reverse PlayPlay the video in reverse.

PlayPlay the video.

PausePause the video.

This button is only shown during playback and reverse playback.

IN/OUT point Jump (sending)Jump to the next IN or OUT point during playback.

Jump to EndJump to the end of the video.

Playback speed adjustmentAdjust the playback speed. (to any of 7 stages)

The playback speed is shown at the top right of the

video.

* The slider cannot be used during reverse playback.

Switch Fullscreen/NormalSwitch between the full-screen and normal display.

4.1 Starting and exiting the application

4.1.1 Starting the application

After installing SHIMANO Camera Editor, double-click the shortcut icon created on the desktop.

4.1.2 Exiting the applicationOn the menu bar, click [File] [Exit]. Alternatively, click the Close button on the upper right corner of the screen.

* The application cannot exit during video conversion. Cancel the conversion before exiting the application.

4.3 Basic operation: Editing the video

4.3.1 Selecting

1. Position the mouse cursor on the [Original video] timeline and click at the start position of the segment

of video you wish to edit.

The IN-point fl ag will be set.

2. Click at the end position of the segment of video you wish to edit.

The OUT-point fl ag will be set to complete specifi cation of the cut.

* Multiple cuts can be made. Cuts are registered on the [Edit video] timeline in the order they are made.

Removing a segment

Position the mouse cursor on the [Original video] timeline or the [Edit video] timeline, right-click, and select [Delete].

4.3.2 Adjusting a segment

Dragging the IN-point fl ag or the OUT-point fl ag to adjust its positionPosition the mouse cursor on the [Original video] timeline and left-click the desired cut to make it the active

cut (so that it is shown in yellow).

Then drag the IN-point fl ag or the OUT-point fl ag on the [Original video] timeline to fi ne-tune the cut.

Changing the selection start time or the selection end time to adjust the cut’s duration Position the mouse cursor on the [Original video] timeline or the [Edit video] timeline and left-click the desired

cut to make it the active cut (so that it is shown in yellow).

Then change the selection start time or the selection end time underneath the [Original video] timeline to

fi ne-tune the cut.

4.3.3 Changing the cut orderPosition the mouse cursor on the [Original video] timeline or the [Edit video] timeline and left-click the desired

cut to make it the active cut (so that it is shown in yellow).

Then drag the active cut on the [Edit video] timeline to change the order as desired.

4.4 Basic operation: Loading ANT data

4.4.1 SelectingOn the menu bar, click [Options] [Sensors display position].

Select this check box

4.4.2 Adjusting the sensors display

1. Select top left, top right, bottom left, or bottom right as the sensors display position.

2. Click the sensors font or color adjustment icon to adjust the font and color.

Click [OK] to close the window after you are fi nished adjusting the sensors display.

4.5 Basic operation: Video conversion settings

4.5.1 SelectingClick [Video Conversion Settings] on the [Options] menu.

4.5.2 Specifying video conversion settingsThe following video conversion settings can be confi gured: [Conversion Format], [Screen Size], and [Frame rate].

Conversion FormatIf the original video is a MOV fi le : The [MOV] and [MP4] formats are available.

If the original video is an MP4 fi le : Only the [MP4] format is available.
