Initial Electronic Setup
Preparing for EDIFACT
1. Complete an EDS*Elit Location Profile Form (included in your New Supplier Information Manual or if you require a form contact the EDS*Elit Help Desk at 248-370-1920 and one will be faxed or mailed to your company). Once this form is completed by your company with assistance from your software support then forward the form to EDS*Elit Support in Michigan. Within 5 days, someone from EDS*Elit Support will contact you and supply you with your 3 digit EDI communications code. Further consulting with your EDS Coordinator or software support may take place to further determine your requirements and go through the Validation Process. 2. Complete the New Supplier Information Sheet located in this manual. Please fill out the information on the enclosed form indicating when you will be ready to receive a DELFOR test release and transmit one DESADV test ASN. When this form has been completed, fax the form to CAMI Supplier Communication Help Desk at 519-425-3150.
CAMI EDIFACT Requirements
In order to receive Delivery Forecast Schedule and send ASNs, the supplier must be setup electronically. These two types of communication are vital and should be given top priority. All suppliers are required to be EDIFACT (Electronic Data Interchange for Administration Commerce and Transport Requirements) compatible (sending and receiving) with CAMI. Suppliers must be capable of receiving DELFOR(Delivery Forecast Schedule) and sending DESADV(Despatch Advice). Suppliers receive their information from the Bulk Data Switch Center (BDS) in Auburn Hills. Supplier will establish computer to computer contact with BDS and pick up the schedules. DESADV data may be sent to BDS at any time (24 hours, 7 days a week). These data transmission will be switched through to CAMI as soon as they are received.
Supplier receives:
1. The DELFOR format (Delivery Forecast Schedule) will transmit a CAMI requirements forecast for the
next 16 weeks where week 0 is the past due week.
Supplier sends:
1. The DESADV file format (ASN) received from the supplier will contain a shipping schedule based on
the requirements from the DELFOR file. Advance shipment notification data must be sent for each shipment made for CAMI. The data consists of two types of information. The first type is the shipment detail and specifies a unique shipment number, the truck number, the supplier code, and the destination codes, the second type is the part detail and consists of part, quantity shipped and cumulative year to date shipped.

Sending and Receiving files
When contacting the CAMI Supplier Communications Help Desk, please be prepared to give the following information:
• DUNS # (9 digits) – issued by Dun & Bradstreet
• Three digit EDI communications code (supplied by EDS*Elit).
• Committed date when you will receive files.
• When you will start sending test ASN's (this is required as soon as possible). CAMI suppliers are requested to conform to CAMI’S EDIFACT for DELFOR and DESADV transactions. It is critical that you or your software representative follows the CAMI EDIFACT Implementation Guide to ensure correct setup. Supply the CAMI Supplier Communications Help Desk with a date indicating when you expect to be ready to receive DELFOR and a test file electronically containing supplier specific part numbers. Please note that any files not downloaded from EDS*ELIT within 9 days will be deleted. This includes DELFOR and DESADV files. To have these files requeued, contact the EDS*Elit Help Desk at 248-370-1920. The following procedures will assist you in receiving a DELFOR test file and sending a DESADV ASN test file: 1. The Service Part’s EDIFACT Contact will be notified when the DELFOR test file is available, in your
mailbox, on the EDS*ELIT network.
2. Refer to the DESADV of this guide, located in the CAMI Service Parts Package and proceed to setup a DESADV test ASN. Use the test file name (CAMISPDADT), transmit a test ASN back to CAMI using the current version of the DESADV transaction for CAMI. Call the CAMI Service Parts Communications Help Desk once the test file has been successfully transmitted. The expected time frame an ASN must be transmitted is 3 days. If unable to do so, please call the CAMI Service Parts Communications Help Desk. Do not send with the productive DESADV ASN filename “CAMISPDADV”.
3. Call the CAMI Supplier Communications Help Desk prior to sending the ASN, so that it can be tracked
(have your 3 digit communication code and DUNS # available). 4. The supplier’s EDIFACT Contact will be contacted by the CAMI Service Parts Communications Help
Desk as to the status of the test ASN. If errors are found or file was not received you will be advised via phone and/or fax as soon as possible. You will be required to make the necessary corrections and retransmit the ASN. Ensure you call the CAMI Service Parts Communications Help Desk, once the ASN has been retransmitted. When the ASN passes all edits, the supplier's EDIFACT contact will be notified that testing is complete for your company.
5. If unsuccessful, troubleshooting will take place with the Supplier, EDS and, if applicable, a Third Party
Software representative, until successful. Please note that any communications that take place between the vendor and the third party software company are the responsibility of the Vendor, not CAMI or EDS.

6. If the test was successful for the DESADV ASN, change your file name from test (CAMISPDADT) to
productive (CAMISPDADV) and send a productive ASN with your next scheduled shipment. Please advise the CAMI Service Part’s Communications Help Desk when you will be sending your first productive ASN so that it can be tracked and checked.
Any questions regarding the above should be directed to the CAMI Service Parts EDI Support Help Desk (located at CAMI Automotive) at [email protected] .
