Clover Kid Corner

Garden Stones

Supplies

• Model Magic (one tennis ball size amount per child)

• Flat gem stones and shiny beads (can be found in discount stores)

What to do

1. Shape model magic into a ball and flatten it to a half inch shape (circle, square, etc.).

2. Place gem stones and beads on the shape and let it dry overnight. The model

magic dries hard so the garden stone will withstand outdoor weather.

3. Once dry, place the garden stone in a garden or yard.

4-H Youth to Sell Items at the Missouri State Fair 2019!

Steve Henness

The 12th Annual Show-Me 4-H Wares youth sales booth is back at the Missouri State Fair this summer. 4-H youth ages 11-18 can apply to sell original products or services to fairgoers in the Mizzou Central Building, Aug. 8-18, 2019.

Registration in 4-HOnline opens May 1, with first selection starting as early as July 1. For more details, please visit: http://4h.missouri.edu/showme4hwares/main

Monarch and Pollinators Mini-grants

Laura Browning

Find a space, grab a shovel, and become part of the effort to save the Monarch buttery! Missouri 4-H is proud to continue Monarch Habitat Demonstration Project Mini-grants, a cooperative effort of Missouri De-partment of Conservation, Grow Native! retailers and Missouri 4-H; funded by the Missouri Conservation Heritage Foundation. This project provides $50 mini-grants to 4-H Clubs or members across the state to plant and maintain monarch habitat gardens on highly visible public properties such as county courthouses, city parks, fairgrounds, school grounds, highway right-of-ways, etc.

4-H clubs/project leaders/members will be issued $50 vouchers by the state 4-H office that can be redeemed at GrowNative! plant retailers cov-ering up to ½ of the cost of landscape plantings for each 100 square feet of habitat (~the footprint of a large SUV). Some GrowNative! retailers offer additional discounts to 4-H Clubs. For program specifics, applica-tions, and other materials visit: http://4h.missouri.edu/monarchs/main
