DIVISION VII - SERVICE INSTALLATIONS (cont)

7. In cases where the property owner desires a water pressure other than

that pressure provided by the Water District mains in the surrounding

area, it shall be the responsibility of the property owner to install

the necessary devices to provide the desired pressure. In no event,

however, shall the pressure at the customer's service pipe under normal

conditions fall below 30 psig nor shall the static pressure exceed

150psig.

8 . The District requires that no solder joints be made under ground in

regards to the service line from the point of the curb box location to

~ the point where the service line enters the building.

9. The District requires that copper pipe be used on all service lines,

when the meter location is inside the building.

10. The District requires that a check valve must be installed in the

service line , when there is a direct connection between the water line

and any type equipment such as Heating/Air-conditioning equipment, etc.,

and where said equipment could be damaged from a back flow of water

resulting from a mainline break or problem. The check valve is also

required to prevent a contamination of the District main.

11. The District requires an approved backflow device to be installed on (A)

DIVISION VIII - METER LOC~TIQN AND REQUIREMENTS

1. The Water District will determine or approve all meter locations .

The owner or water user shall be responsible for making a safe

accessible place for the meter to be installed , either in a tile

concrete box with approved covering in the. yard or in the basement

of the house, 11or if the property owner desires a remote reading

to a meter installed in the basement the Water District will

inst~ll s·aid equipment upon payment for the cost of the equipment

and installa,tion!1• Th.e property owner or water user will be

responsible for pla,cing the proper fittfogs so spaced as to

facilitate the meter setting as required by the District .

DIVISION IX - WATER FOR TEMPORARY USE

1. Where water is required for temporary use in connection with

construction, the party desiring the temporary service sha 11 apply

for a permit from the District at the District office. Unmetered

water sha11 be pa i d for on the bas.is of metered r ates acco rding

to the estimated amount used or to be used .

2. In the case of a large cons-tructi on project the District may

require the use of a special meter to registe r water consumed .

The meter in such case shall be furnished by the District without

charge, providing that the person obtaining the meter shall be

cha.rged for the cost of the meter itsel f if it is not returned

promptly after the discontinuance of its use .

3. Any speci al conne.ctions or taps required to make tempora.ry use

of water avai1able shall be made by the District and shall be paid

fo r by the par ty desi r i.ng the temporary ser vice . Charges sha.11 be

the cost plus 10% of the installation cost . A tempo r ary service

wi ll not be installed where a permanent ser vice wi ll be required

DIVISION XI - WATER MAIN INSTALLATIONS (cont)

3. The District reserves the right to require all transmission mains

constructed hereunder to be at least as large in diameter as the main

to which it is connected and shall be a minimum of 6" in diameter in

subdivisions and improved areas and shall be greater in diameter

where the District believes the future growth of the area warrants.

The District also requires that all mains six inches (6") or larger

be Ductile Cast Iron with a minimum of class 52, and where less than (C)

six (6") is allowed by the District then such main must be copper.

4. Failure to comply with any of these rules and regulations shall be

sufficient justification for the Water District to discontinue the

service. Before service is disconnect, a shut off notice will be

mailed to the customer, which will give the customer 10 days advantace

notice, and state the date of cut-off.

DIVISION XII - SPECIAL CONTRACTS

1. The District reserves the right to provide special services for a
