Message from the Deans

At the annual meeting of the Law Practice Management Section of the American Bar Association, Founding Dean F. Leary Davis was presented with a unique award from the ABA honoring Campbell's law school for a mission that has remained true to the legal profession. Campbell's law faculty members believe that a complete legal education must deal with many facets of being a lawyer besides the obligatory theoretical. That is why we also emphasize law office management, ethics and professionalism, computers and law practice, law office economics, trial advocacy, and planning courses. That is why specialized seminars in areas such as family law practice, real estate development, advanced criminal procedure and government litigation are offered.

Campbell's program of legal education is rigorous. Much is required of our very talented pool of law students. We continue to enjoy over one dozen applications for each available seat in the entering class. Our very limited enrollment allows Campbell to attract highly qualified and motivated law students. Approxi­mately 80% of our students are from North Carolina. As you review the biographies in this placement bulletin, you will probably recognize someone from your area.

Therefore, we proudly present the bright and industrious members of the Classes of 1995 and 1996. Each of the featured students gained admission only after a required personal interview with a member of the law faculty. You would not hire a new associate or employee by mail, and we do not accept an applicant for law school without a thorough personal evaluation.
