PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The Campeche Reimaging program merges over 100,000 sq km of narrow-azimuth data and ocean bottom seismic data

from the CNH, to provide the high quality images necessary for prospecting in the complex salt of the Campeche basin.

Using the latest ION imaging technologies, including deghosting, SRME, RTM and tomography, we are providing a timely,

cost-effective solution for evaluating this highly prospective area during Mexico’s bid rounds.

KEY COMPONENTS

→ Fulfill CNH lease sale evaluation requirements

→ Low risk, inexpensive alternative to new data acquisition

→ Improved data quality over legacy CNH data

→ Contiguous 3D volume of 30 Hz RTM and Kirchhoff TTI data encompasses over 100,000 sq km

→ Imaging products available – Super Fast Track, Enhanced Fast Track and Full Flow

CAMPECHE GEOLOGICAL OVERVIEW

Campeche North

The Campeche North Reprocessing program combines 51,000 km sq of five legacy seismic surveys, Sayab, Ixic,

Temoa, Yoka, and HanSur, acquired separately, in the southern Gulf of Mexico Salinas del Istimo Basin. Here, Jurassic

age source rocks, Cretaceous carbonates, massive salt structures, and tertiary sediment fairways exist throughout this

geologically complex basin where proven petroleum systems exist throughout the Mesozoic and Tertiary stratigraphic

units. The updated seismic and velocity model better images the structural and stratigraphic traps at subsalt level

and highlights abyssal plain amplitude anomalies within the local and regional fold systems. The reprocessing of the

legacy CNH data integrates the latest processing and imaging techniques across the regional scale contiguous 3D

volume while the consistency and scale of the dataset allows the user a seamless perspective from which to explore

the petroleum rich basin.

COMMERCIAL

Mexico is the most prolific region offshore in America, and one of the world’s largest untapped resources of oil and gas.

Recent significant discoveries in the Perdido and Sureste Basins are key indicators that the petroleum potential is

definitive and with substantial rewards. In addition to its geological potential, recent changes to regulation and fiscal

terms have been designed to bring international interest to Mexico. The result has seen a revitalization of the Energy

industry which puts Mexico EUR potential in a similar category to such established provinces as Norway, UK and

Brazil but with the promise of yet undiscovered potential with new investment.

Arbitrary line shows folded and trusted structures from compressional forces on the Recent to Upper Jurassic section above the autochthonous salt and from salt diapirism. The flat lying base of salt is very well imaged.

Campeche South

The Campeche South Reprocessing program encompasses 24,000 km sq four legacy seismic surveys, Anegada, Holok,

Cequi, and Bolol, acquired separately, in the southern Gulf of Mexico Salinas del Istimo Basin. This southward

continuation of the Campeche North program continues the trends of its northern counterpart such as substantial salt

structures and compressional fold and thrust formations. Unique to the area however is the change in structural

regime to counter-regional extensional formations in the Comalcalco Basin and the oceanic crust expression in the

basinward abyssal plain. Observations of significant thickness and character changes in the Mesozoic section lead to

a new understanding of the geologic timing, basin dynamics, and source rock potential in the area. Additionally,

utilizing well control for velocity analysis and consistent model building across survey boundaries provides an updated

image which ties directly into the recent successful Zama discovery.

Campeche Super Shallow

The Campeche Super Shallow Reprocessing program combines another 9 legacy seismic surveys totaling over 9,500

km sq plus 1,700 km of 2D using a contiguous velocity model which expands southward from the previously re-imaged

Campeche programs. These shallow water surveys near the Pescadores and Coatzacoalcos mini-basins are

characterized by the landward continuation of the Sal Somera canopy and the Catemaco fold belt. Complexities in

lithological identification between thin, rugose, salt canopies, extensional detachments, and the chaotic mass

transport sequences result in challenges to the merging and re-imaging of the vintage data; however, regional

consistency paired with local well control and extensive experience in the area allows for the reprocessed dataset to

tie, confirm, and further develop exploration leads within the area.

Campeche Shallow Waters

The Campeche Shallow Waters Reprocessing program combines 15 legacy seismic surveys, acquired separately in the

southern Gulf of Mexico offshore area of Comalcalco, Pilar de Akal, and Macuspana. The south-eastward extension of

the Campeche North and South programs, the 15,000 km sq Shallows dataset reveals the extensional features of the

Comalcalco and Macuspana basins and the associated thick sediment fairways as well as gaps in the Mesozoic

carbonate packages presumably rafted away by thick salt evacuation. Moreover, The Pilar de Akal, which sits between

the two extensional basins, is home of the world renowned Cantarell field. By seamlessly merging all surveys together

and combining with the North and South programs, this dataset offers unprecedented perspective for exploration

teams to tie known, historic areas of success, to others prospective plays and targets in the region in 3-demensions.
