Campus Connection-PSF at MTSU It is the most exciting time of the year in campus ministry, but it also comes with a bit of sadness as it is time to say goodbye to students who are graduating. While the goodbyes are hard, the excitement comes from seeing what God is going to lead them to next. After a year to five years of sharing meals, gathering for worship, studying the Bible, wrestling with difficult questions, serving the local community, going on mission trips, praying, and doing life together—it is time for our graduates to continue on their faith journey as God leads them off a school campus and into the larger world. The one thing that this class held in common is a passion to serve, whether on a mission trip or volunteering in the Murfreesboro community. Among these graduates were Noemi Leon and Caleb Bost. In the Spring of 2014 on our trip to San Antonio, we worked with a food bank, homeless shelter, a community garden, and a home/school for those with special needs. In each place, the need for healthy food was lifted up as a major priority, which seemed to confirm in Noemi her call to be a Nutritionist. She goes from working part time in a nursing home to serve others in a residency type program this next year at Ohio State. From there, perhaps she will develop a community garden for a school, or teach good nutrition to communities in a developing country. Who knows what God has ahead for her gifts and passions. Two years ago Caleb Bost transferred to MTSU from a community college and immediately sought out a Presbyterian campus ministry. Caleb took a leadership role in helping groups go serve in our community. He talked not only some PSF folks into throwing a party for some wonderful people at the Sunnington Assisted Living Home, but also got some of his fraternity brothers to come as well. From there, several students went each week to love on our new friends there by playing some Bingo. At our End of the Year Party, one of his fraternity brothers shared with me that he was ready to give up on church until Caleb invited him to PSF and that he didn’t know where he would be now if not for Caleb. Caleb goes on to an internship for the Chamber of Commerce back in his hometown and hopes to someday be employed with an organization working towards economic stimulus in underdeveloped countries. A new parking lot, (which should be finished in the next six weeks), house and equipment maintenance, staffing, running programs, getting transportation for trips, keeping costs low for events, getting food for meals each Thursday night all requires financial and volunteer support that comes from this Presbytery. But all of that is just to create environments where Noemi’s can find direction and calling, where Caleb’s find opportunities to serve, and where students connect faith to life in Christ through each other. Thank you all for your support and your continued prayers for all of our PSF students and alumnae. Campus Connection-PSF at MTSU

It is the most exciting time of the year in campus ministry,

but it also comes with a bit of sadness as it is time to say

goodbye to students who are graduating. While the

goodbyes are hard, the excitement comes from seeing what

God is going to lead them to next. After a year to five years

of sharing meals, gathering for worship, studying the Bible,

wrestling with difficult questions, serving the local

community, going on mission trips, praying, and doing life

together—it is time for our graduates to continue on their

faith journey as God leads them off a school campus and

into the larger world. The one thing that this class held in

common is a passion to serve, whether on a mission trip or volunteering in the Murfreesboro

community. Among these graduates were Noemi Leon and Caleb Bost.

In the Spring of 2014 on our trip to San Antonio, we worked with

a food bank, homeless shelter, a community garden, and a

home/school for those with special needs. In each place, the

need for healthy food was lifted up as a major priority, which

seemed to confirm in Noemi her call to be a Nutritionist. She

goes from working part time in a nursing home to serve others

in a residency type program this next year at Ohio State. From

there, perhaps she will develop a community garden for a

school, or teach good nutrition to communities in a developing

country. Who knows what God has ahead for her gifts and

passions.

Two years ago Caleb Bost transferred to MTSU from a community

college and immediately sought out a Presbyterian campus ministry.

Caleb took a leadership role in helping groups go serve in our

community. He talked not only some PSF folks into throwing a

party for some wonderful people at the Sunnington Assisted Living

Home, but also got some of his fraternity brothers to come as well.

From there, several students went each week to love on our new

friends there by playing some Bingo. At our End of the Year Party,

one of his fraternity brothers shared with me that he was ready to

give up on church until Caleb invited him to PSF and that he didn’t

know where he would be now if not for Caleb. Caleb goes on to an

internship for the Chamber of Commerce back in his hometown and

hopes to someday be employed with an organization working

towards economic stimulus in underdeveloped countries.

A new parking lot, (which should be finished in the next six weeks), house and equipment maintenance,

staffing, running programs, getting transportation for trips, keeping costs low for events, getting food

for meals each Thursday night all requires financial and volunteer support that comes from this

Presbytery. But all of that is just to create environments where Noemi’s can find direction and calling,

where Caleb’s find opportunities to serve, and where students connect faith to life in Christ through

each other. Thank you all for your support and your continued prayers for all of our PSF students and
