Busan is one of Northeast Asia’s leading port cities, with a population of 3.6 million people. Busan is a beautiful sea city with clean air and pleasant weather, and was recently included on the list of Korea’s most livable cities for a fifth consecutive year. As Busan is the biggest city after Seoul and Busan Port is Korea’s first trade port, there are many tourist sites and attractions for students to enjoy on weekends. As well, a wide range of events are held in Busan every year, including the Busan International Film Festival(BIFF) and the Gwangalli Fireworks Festival, offering international students a chance to participate and naturally learn Korean outside of school.

PNU’s Language Education Institute launched as a Korean language class for exchange students in 1995, and has since grown to become a full-fledged Korean language institute. With more than 20 years of operation experience and its systematic program, the Language Education Institute provides high quality Korean language education to students.

We aim to cultivate people of talent who can serve as members of Korean society, with the ability both to communicate clearly in Korean and to understand Korean culture. To that end, our highly-qualified and experienced instructors, all of which hold master’s or doctoral degrees in Korean language, education and linguistics, offer an excellent education using the efficient teaching methods and textbooks developed by the institute.

Every year students from more than 40 different countries select our course to get an easy access to learning Korean and make a rapid progress in it.
