Dear Parents and Friends,

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the Canyon Heights Academy Annual Gala Auction & Dinner: Filled with Joy.

And there is so much to be joyful about! As you visit with our school families and friends this evening, you will notice the feeling of unity and commitment to our mission: Educate the mind, Form the character, and Inspire the hearts of tomorrow’s leaders. By being here this evening and by actively participating in our auction, you will help us to continue the program of education that sets Canyon Heights Academy apart from other fine schools throughout the area.

Your support is essential to our fundraising for this school year. Thank you to each of you for supporting our event this evening and to our Board of Directors for their leadership as we strive for “Semper Altius” in all we do. Thank you also to the many companies and individuals who have generously donated unique and outstanding items to our silent and live auctions and sponsored our event.

A very special thank you to Mrs. Michelle Wong and Mrs. Alejandra Mazariegos, our co-chairs for tonight’s beautiful event. Beginning last summer, their leadership and diligence to create a successful evening is evident in each detail and greatly appreciated. Thank you as well to the many volunteers who have given their time, talents, and treasure to  ensure everything is just as it should be to make sure your evening is “Filled with Joy.”

Have a wonderful time tonight knowing that it is because of your generosity that we will continue to build Canyon Heights Academy to be the very best it can be and to give a CHA education to as many students as possible.

May God bless each of you abundantly,

Margaret A. Richardson, Ed.D.

3010 Essential

Sine Qua Non was created after the 1994 harvest of a BienNacido Syrah named “The Queen of Spades”. Winemaker Manfred Krankl feels strongly that each vintage is a completely unique wine and thus he gives each wine a unique name. He also creates the artwork for each new label himself. This bottle of 2009 Syrah "The Thrill of Stamp Collecting" impresses for its poise and underlying energy. Boysenberry, spices, licorice, cola and mocha sit on a core of firm tannin as this powerful wine opens up in the glass. The intensity of the fruit and the oak are dominant at present. In another few years the wine should be spectacular. The Thrill Of Stamp Collecting is 90% Syrah, 6% Grenache and 4% Viognier, all destemmed and mostly from estate owned vineyards.  The anticipated maturity of this wine is 2014-2024. A truly unique bottle of wine!

Come and retreat… with your friends!

NOW AVAILABLE: PRIVATE RETREATS TAILORED FOR YOU AND YOUR FRIENDS!

Our 16-bedroom retreat center is small by most standards — and we like it that way! The retreats and events we offer here are designed to suit groups of friends, not groups of anonymous strangers. The Legionaries of Christ priests tailor their talks and schedules to the unique needs of each diverse audience.

We invite you to be a Retreat Captain. Contact us, schedule a your own overnight or full-weekend event, and come with your friends. A partial list of the types of retreats to choose from include: Catholic Boot Camp, Weekends with Pope Francis, or perhaps just a Rest, Relax, and Recharge. The price per person is based on the size of your group.

Our Lady of Santa Clara offers very comfortable rooms with private baths, spectacular beauty, and nourishing food for body and soul. Our retreat directors are committed to making your valuable time worthwhile. We hope that, like so many others have experienced, God will bless you here.
