A ‘Drive-On, Drive-Off, Float-Off ’, modular, low-profile, lightweight, robust land and maritime aerial delivery platform designed for swift configuration to suit a multitude of mission scenarios, utilising existing PD9 pallets, Type V or the Airborne Systems low-cost composite alternative.CapableEach ATAX module has been designed to carry 3.2 tonnes, a maximum payload of 16 tonnes can be achieved on a single platform using 5 connected modules. Equally, 2 triple modules can be configured for sequential AD from a C130J Mk 4 or A400M with a load capacity of 9.6 tonnes on each. In-built airbags provide managed deceleration to allow delivery of vehicles and cargo without the need for bulky energy dissipated materials. This allows rapid rigging and de-rigging of cargo - a true ‘drive-on, drive-off ’ system.
Multi-functional‘Designed for modularity’, modules can be connected in minutes without the need for tools, Manual Handling Equipment (MHE) or excessive manpower. Airbags can be installed with the platforms on the ground.
Two accessory rails provide rapid configuration of the cargo restraint mechanisms and side frame structures for either maritime or land missions.
Due to the relative ease of configuration and low profile when packed, the ATAX system reduces the logistic burden of storage of multiple AD systems to conduct similar but different functions.
