TO BE EXECUTED BY BIDDER AND SUBMITTED WITH ESCROW BID DOCUMENTS The Escrow Bid Documents must be submitted in a sealed container separate from the Bid Proposal no later than 5 P.M. on the third business day following the bid opening day. Each container shall be clearly marked on the outside with the bidder's name, date of submittal, Project name, and the words “Escrow Bid Documents.'' Timely submission of these Forms is considered material by the District. Submission of Documents is only required from the firms submitting the three apparent low bids.

 The Escrow Bid Documents shall be accompanied by Bid Form No. 10 – Escrow Bid Documents Certification of Completeness and shall be signed by the individual authorized by the bidder to execute the Bid Proposal, stating that the material in the Escrow Documents constitutes all of the documentary information used in preparation of this bid, and that he/she has personally examined the contents of the Escrow Bid Documents container and has found that the documents in the container are complete. The Escrow Bid Documents shall clearly itemize and separate the estimated cost of performing each bid item contained in the bid. Bid items should be separated into sub-items consistent with the Schedule of Values format to present a detailed cost estimate. Crews, equipment, estimated quantities, and the rate of production shall be detailed. 26.01. Scope of Work

A. Spot repair of spalling concrete are only for those locations that are not related toanchor installation of the steel channel materials. Spot repair locations along theconcrete walls shall be verified by the Engineer prior to Contractor’s execution ofwork pertinent to this item.

B. Follow ACI 562-13, ACI 224-1R-07 and ACI RAP-6.

C. Dispose of all removed materials in accordance with Sections 10.11 & 10.12 ofthese Specifications.

D. Upon determination of the spalling concrete location(s), saw cut a vertical face toremove damaged portion of spalling concrete and paint exposed existingreinforcing with 2 coats of inorganic zinc primer.

26.02. Materials

A. Sika Repair 223 or approved equal.

B. Inorganic zinc primer must comply with AASHTO M 300, Type I or II.

26.03. Placement

A. Surfaces shall be structurally sound, dry, clean and free of dust, dirt, grime, oils,scale, rust, silicones, curing compounds, alkali, acid residues, etc. Contractorshall clean concrete surfaces and existing reinforcing steel by power blastingbefore placing filler material.

B. Follow manufacturer’s current instructions at all times.

C. Correct any mistakes and damages by cleaning, repairing or replacing, andrecoating, as acceptable to the Engineer.

D. Products to be applied according to manufacturer’s recommended guidelines.

E. Burn and cut any reinforcing steel bars that are popped up from the surface.Exposed reinforcing steel bars that are embedded in concrete shall be powerblasted.

F. The final surface finish of the patched concrete surface shall comply withSection 51-1.03F, “Finishing Concrete” of the State Specifications, and shallhave an Ordinary Surface Finish per Section 51-1.03F(2) “Ordinary SurfaceFinish” of the State Specifications.

G. Patched concrete shall emit a ringing sound similar to adjacent sound concretewhen struck with a metal tool 14 days after placement.

H. The final spot repair surface shall not protrude more than one-half-inch comparedto the adjacent concrete surfaces. Final approval shall be determined by theEngineer.

26.03.01. Testing

A. No special requirements except as specified in the ACI codes and manuals.

26.03.02. Submittals

A. Contractor shall submit to the Engineer for his approval, manufacturer’s datasheets for installation requirements, application procedures and coverage rates.Upon approval of the Engineer, manufacturer’s specifications do thereby becomea part of this specification and shall be used as the basis for approval or rejectionof work carried out in this Article.

B. Submit a copy of the manufacturer’s recommendations and written applicationinstructions for review and approval.

C. Submit a copy of manufacturer’s warranty information for review and approval.

26.03.03. Measurement

A. Quantities for the Spot Repair of Concrete will be measured in square feet of thecompleted repair surface. Measured areas are recorded by the Engineer andagreed upon by the Contractor.

26.03.04. Payment

A. Full compensation for furnishing all labor, materials, tools, equipment andincidentals and for doing all work for installing and applying patch material,chipping, cleaning, removing and disposal, saw cutting, cleaning, and paintingexposed rebars, as directed by the Engineer shall be included in the unit bidprice per square foot for SPOT REPAIR SPALLING CONCRETE (NON-ANCHOR)—SUPPLEMENTAL BID ITEM NO. 3.

4. CONTRACTOR SHALL ADHERE TO AISC AND AWS STANDARDS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR INSTALLATION OF THE STEEL SECTIONS AND WELDING. CONTRACTOR IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT SHOP DRAWINGS FOR STEEL SECTION INSTALLATION AND WELDING FOR REVIEW AND APPROVAL PRIOR TO BEGINNING CONSTRUCTION.

5. VERTICAL CHANNEL SECTIONS SHALL BE INSTALLED FIRST. THE HORIZONTAL CHANNEL SECTION LENGTH SHALL BE DETERMINED FROM THE FIELD MEASUREMENTS BETWEEN THE INSTALLED VERTICAL CHANNEL SECTIONS .
