Los cuatro cuadros Activity 1: Sit next to a partner, and put just one person’s packet between you two. As your teacher calls the Spanish terms, try to be the first to find the picture/English term. If you point at it first, write down a tally mark in the margin. Activity 2: Next, with the same partner, play the dot game! The first person says the Spanish of two pictures/terms that are either side-by-side or one above the other, and that person draws a line connecting those two. Keep taking turns saying the Spanish and drawing lines. If you ever draw the fourth line to complete a square, write your initials in the box!

Qué y que
We have learned that qué means “what”, while que means “who/that.”
In English, we could say “The person that has the most siblings is Ana.” We could just as easily say “The person who has the most siblings is Ana.” In Spanish, we just use one word: que.
If the subject before que is one person or one group (a student, the family, etc.) the verbs after que should be in the él/ella form. Por ejemplo:
The person that prepares the cake is my grandma = La persona que prepara el pastel es mi abuela.
Practice with a singular subject:
The girl that has the presents is my cousin. =
______________________________________________________________________________________
The person that takes pictures in my family is my dad.
______________________________________________________________________________________
Pedro is a student that never studies.
______________________________________________________________________________________
Practice with a plural subject: if the subject before que is plural (the teachers, the parents, the boys, etc.), the verbs after que should be in the ellos/ellas form.
I work with two people that speak Spanish. (use ‘personas’)
______________________________________________________________________________________
I don’t like classes that have forty students.
______________________________________________________________________________________
The boys that play soccer are here. (hmm… ser o estar?)
