When you purchase a good quality binocular the manufacturer would usually sell it to you in a proper case with a complete set of handling instructions. The instructions manual would also contain a section on how to clean it, it will in detail tell you what kind of solution (liquid generally) you can apply on the body and glasses of the binocular. This is because most of these products have a number of components that are made using materials like light weight plastics and other stuff. Now these components or even the glass can get damaged in high temperatures and constant exposure to sun light. The best thing to do would be to place the binocular into its original case as soon as you are done using them. Also if you are using any cleaning products do make sure that they are fresh products that have not been on the shelf for a couple months already. Another thing to keep mind is that do make use of the binocular at regular intervals when possible. This way you bring them out of the case, use it and then would definitely remember to clean then before you shut them into the case again. Binoculars can last a lifetime if they are properly cared for so the onus is on you to take good care of the product and use if for as long as possible.
