Nice weather is around the corner… so come on by and see these beautiful homes. Summer will soon be behind us and great fall weather is around the corner. Here are a few helpful tips and reminders: Tip #1: Leaves will be falling soon. If you have gutters, call ahead to schedule a cleaning service to remove your autumn leaves. Tip #2: Save energy and extend the life of your furnace. Schedule a cleaning and servicing. Tip #3: It’s been a very wet year! Take advantage of nice days to scrub or power wash mildew on your home. If left untreated it can discolor your siding. Tip #4: Check exterior caulk joints around windows, doors, and siding & trim joints. Remove and replace with fresh caulking. Tip #5: Scrape off that old paint, clean, and re-paint/ stain your: exterior deck, porch, stairs, and even your wooden siding. Spend a little now and it will extend its life. Tip #6: Repair or make sure your skirting is in place. Holes allow critters under your home and they can cause expensive damage. Winter’s frigid air can cause serious problems with your water supply and even your sewer pipes. Yikes! Tip #7: Help keep your water pipes from freezing: Have your heat-tape and heat sticks inspected, replace if necessary. Tip #8: Make sure: before the first frost, you remove garden hoses from exterior faucets. Tip #9: Installing a storm door (especially on north and west sides of your home), can help block blowing rain, snow, and winter’s cold air.
