In recent years, our graduates have found gainful employment in a wide variety of industries, including business services, education, hospitality, communication industry, logistics, transportation, social services, and government work. A small number of our graduates also advanced to post- graduate studies in history at universities around the world, including Princeton University, Peking University, University of Sheffield, and the University of Hong Kong, for a career in the academia. Student Internship The Department encourages students to seek out internship opportunities as a way to cultivate their career paths. In recent years, a number of our students have secured research assistantship at our affiliated research center, the Hong Kong and South China Historical Research Programme (HKSCHRP), a major hub for the study of the history of Hong Kong and South China. Languages of Instruction All courses are taught in English. Exceptions are made in some advanced Chinese history courses which are taught in modern Chinese. The History Department offers a diverse and wide-

ranging curriculum that covers the history of the world

from antiquity to the present, with courses on the

history of China, Hong Kong, Europe, the Americas,

Central Asia, as well as comparative and transnational

histories. Undergraduate students begin their studies

with foundational courses that introduce them to basic

concepts and tools in historical research, and then move

on to more specialized courses in areas of their own
