This positon offers a unique opportunity to serve as the second-in-command of the Natonal Insttute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS) with responsibility

and diverse organizaton. Applicants must possess an M.D. and/or Ph.D. and possess senior-level scientfic research experience and outstanding scientfic

knowledge of research programs in one or more scientfic areas related to cell biology, biophysics, genetcs, developmental biology, pharmacology, physiology,

biological chemistry, biomedical technology, bioinformatcs, and/or computatonal biology. They should be known and respected within their profession, both

natonally and internatonally, as individuals of outstanding scientfic competence. Applicants must also have demonstrated experience in setng, planning,

implementng, and analyzing program objectves and priorites. They should have the demonstrated ability to manage financial and human resources, lead a

research program involving extensive internal and external collaboratons, experience managing programs related to the creaton of a highly skilled and diverse

Department of Anesthesiology. Research facilities and resources

will be provided commensurate with the accomplishments and
