SUMMER DAY CAMP 2015 CARKEEK PARK EARTHKEEPERS Week 1 6/29-7/3 Eyes to the Sky This week will be spent learning about the daytime sky, weather patterns, and creatures that fly in Carkeek Park. We will also explore different bird habitats in Car- keek Park. No camp on 4th of July. Week 2 7/6-7/10 Furs, Tails, Tracks & Trails Ever wonder about the animals living in Seattle? This week, we will learn basic tracking techniques, play games to learn about animal survival, and explore mammal adaptations with hands-on materials. Week 3 7/13-7/17 Wet and Squiggly Tidepool Wonders Love the beach? Our first week of tidepool explora- tion will take campers who love the beach to the next level with a love of plants and animals that live on the beach. With a week full of great low tides, we will venture down daily to explore all of the trea- sures that are uncovered as the tides flow out. When the tide comes in, we will observe how it brings food and oxygen back to the animals that we just explored. Week 4 7/20-/7/24 Survivor Island Want to learn how to survive in the forest? This week we will learn basic outdoor skills that could help us survive in the forest. Packing for an outdoor adven- ture, knowing how to find your way, being able to identify native plants and know some traditional uses, and learning to build a camp fire are just a few of the topics we are going to cover.
