Q. How soon do I need to file the FAFSA, and should I still apply if I think my family makes too much money?The FAFSA opens October 1st and is filed each yearPrior-Prior year. Use 2017 tax information for 2019-2020

Q. What is the difference between grants and loans?Grants are free money—financial aid that doesn’t have to be

In the case of job loss/divorce/reduction in income our office can help!Special conditions process uses current income information
to update FAFSA to accurately reflect current status.
Q. What happens if I drop my classes?Dropping one class after Freeze will not effect your Financial
Aid. Classes are already paid for. Expensive as you have to take the class againFinancial Aid will not pay for the third time you take the class.
Dropping all classes after Freeze may result in R2TIV. Aid you did not ‘earn’ is returned. You may end up owing the University.
