Easter Prize Draw Thank you so much to all our school families for your most generous donations of chocolates, craft items, baskets,

boxes and bags for our annual Easter Prize Draw. It looks like we’ll have LOTS of wonderful prizes for the draw at

the Pedlars’ Parade.

Keep sending your sold raffle tickets and money back to the front office so you don’t miss out! Last day for

handing in money and tickets is Wednesday 29 March.

We had a fantastic turnout of volunteers for the Easter chocolate collection on Tuesday. A HUGE thank you to the

following people who spent a productive hour sorting and boxing the donated goodies: Bronwyn S, Ganga K, Jeanne

F, Jiang W, Kahu, Kate M, Katherine W, Katie J, Kylie P, Mel, Sana S and Vivian J.

Next Monday 20 March, we will have our first Easter prize wrapping day. Anyone who has volunteered, as well as anyone else

who can assist, please meet in the playground at the bottom of the ramp to Block A at 9:15am.

Hot-Cross Bun Fundraiser

pack of 6 buns will cost $7 with $2 from every pack sold raising money for our school. Baker’s Delight

bake their hot-cross buns fresh every day and they come in 5 fantastic flavours. There will be a note

going home very soon with information about how to order and collect your buns. A BIG thank you to

Dmitri V for organising this event.

grandma. Gifts will be priced at $5 and $6. A note will be going home soon with more details

about this event.

We will require some volunteers to help run the stall and sell gifts to the students for time slots

between 9am and 1pm on the day. Please fill out the volunteer slip that will come home on the

same note or email the P&C at [email protected] with your availability.

Mothers Matter Breakfast – Thursday 4 May Each year the P&C and school staff organise a BBQ breakfast and activities for the lovely ladies in our lives. This will be held on

Thursday 4 May from 7:30 to 9am. We’ll be sending a note home very soon with instructions about how to pre-order your

breakfast. We’ll also be asking for volunteers (particularly from the male school community!) to assist with the cooking and

serving of the breakfast. Please keep this morning free!

Harmony Day Tuesday 21 Harmony day is a special day where we celebrate the different cultures of Australia. It is not only a special day at our school but a day celebrated all over the country.

The ‘Everyone Belongs’ program is all about inclusiveness, respect and acceptance of all people.

Orange is the official colour of Harmony Day and represents multiculturalism. This is why we are invited to wear orange on Tuesday 21 March and why our special class activities are based around that colour.

Head lice It’s very common for children to get head lice, especially once they go to child care, preschool and school. You can usually treat head lice at home. Head lice are often called nits. Please check your child’s hair for nits/lice regularly. If you find any eggs or lice, please commence treatment as recommended by NSW Health and /or your local GP or pharmacist.

For more information on how to monitor and prevent head lice, please download the parent resource below from the NSW Health website: http://www.health.nsw.gov.au/environment/headlice/Pages/default.aspx What are the signs of head lice? Because lice move very fast, they are not always easy to see. Here's what you can watch for: * Frequent scratching * Small red bumps on the scalp, neck and shoulders * Lice eggs, also called nits, which look like tiny, oval shaped, white or clear dots. Nits usually stick at an angle on hair shafts. If you think someone in your family has head lice, it's best to check everyone in the family. Please consult with your local doctor or pharmacist if you have any queries.
