Every week to mark our Lenten journey into
prayer, a member of our Parish Pastoral
Council will compose a prayer that invites the
whole Parish to become a praying community
- each of us lifting our hearts and minds to
God.
Lord Jesus,
As you were led by the Spirit into the
wilderness
We often find ourselves feeling lost and
confused.
Your faith in the love of our Father
Strengthens and inspires us as we journey
through life.
Jesus,
Help us to pray,
Help us to be kind to one another.
Guide us and our Parish as we begin this
season of Lent.
Bless each of us with wisdom, joy and
courage.
Never let us forget that you are always
with us, even in the darkest of moments.
Thank you Jesus.
Amen.

Sunday, 1st March, 2020. First Sunday of Lent www.carlowcathedral.ie
The Season of Lent is a wonderful opportunity to pause, reflect and
ponder the depths of God, as Christ did in the desert.
The Carlow Cathedral Pastoral Council is delighted to present “Letting
in the Light - A Journey into Prayer.” Over four weeks in Lent, we will
explore, with Fr Ruairi, the basics of Christian prayer which will help us
all to deepen our relationship with our God who knows and loves us.
We will meet in the Cathedral Parish Centre on Mondays 2nd, 9th, 23rd
and 30th March from 7.30pm to 9pm. There will be refreshments
provided from 7pm.
Everyone is most welcome to attend. Keep the dates free in your diary!
Lenten Challenge
Don’t give something up
Take something on!
(Inspired by Karen Ehman)
This Lent, instead of ‘giving up’ something, why not ‘take up’ something positive and life changing
instead? Singing is a gift and if you are blessed with the gift think about sharing it by joining any of
Carlow Cathedral choir ministries as an offering for the Lenten season.
Lent is a season of spiritual enrichment and singing takes on particular meaning, offering us an
opportunity to nourish our souls and enrich our lives through song, opening ourselves more fully to
the spiritual. Consider taking on the Reverse Lenten Challenge; enrich your Lenten experience by
sharing your talents and time and giving back.
To get involved, please contact: Marian 087 6689943 or Michael 085 1585085
Digging Deeper this Lent
During the season of Lent there will be a group discussion every Tuesday
after the 10am Mass in the Cathedral Sacristy starting on the 3rd March.
The discussion will focus around the Digging Deeper programme for Lent
which explores our baptism.
All are welcome to attend.
