B. PresentationActivity

Directions: In pieces of paper draw the x and the y axis. And plot the points given below and connect it respectively.S (0,3)T (-2,-2)A (2,2)R (-2,2)S (2,-2)S (0,3)

Guided Questions:1. In what quadrant that s,t,a,r,s fall?2. In what quadrant that s,t,a,r,s fall?3. What shape form in the given set of ordered pairs?

AnalysisQuestion for discussion1. How did you find the activity?2. Did you notice something?3. What is a Cartesian plane?4. What is the x axis? How about the y axis?5. How do you call the four regions in the Cartesian plane?6. How did you plot the points in the Cartesian plane?7. In the first quadrant what is the sign of the ordered pair? second

quadrant? Third quadrant? Fourth quadrant?

Abstraction

Cartesian Plane

The Cartesian plane formed by two real number lines intersecting

at the right angles. The horizontal line is called the x-axis and the vertical line is

the y- axis.

The point of intersection is the origin.

The axes separate the plane into four regions called quadrants,

labelled by I,II,III,IV in counter clockwise direction.

Application

Refers to the graph below. Write the coordinate of each point on your

notebook.

IV. EvaluationPlot the point on a sheet of graphing paper.

V. AssignmentIn what situation can this lesson Cartesian plane applicable. Is there example that can help you as a students.
