A lot of churches in North Carolinathat do not have a fellowship hallwould love to have one, but forBethel Baptist Church members, thehope has become a reality.David Jackson, pastor of Bethel

Baptist Church, 312 Dixon Road inGraham, said the fellowship hallserves a special purpose to BethelBaptist Church members. He said,"The primary purpose of thefellowship building is to allow us topresent the gospel so people who donot know Jesus Christ will come to

know him."There is a need for fellowship in

our church, and this building allowsour church members to cometogether in Christian fellowship,"Jackson continued. Jackson added,"We felt that the Lord would have usto construct this building.Jackson said he is excited about

the constructing of the fellowshipbuilding, and said the fellowship hallis a great need for Bethel BaptistChurch. He said: "We live in a timewhen society is very influential. Thechurch people should fellowshiptogether in things of the Lord. This

building allows our church membersto come together in Christianfellowship. "Bethel Baptist Church contains a

Junior Church, in which kids ages 4to 9 years old have their own churchservice in one of the back rooms ofthe church.'According to Jackson, when the

fellowship building opens, the JuniorChurch will be held there instead ofinside the church.Jackson said a big benefit of the

fellowship building is that it allows agreater variety of activities inBethel Baptist ChW:Ch. He said:Class functions, special suppers, special singings and showers will beheld there.During the week when all of the

rain was soaking the piedmont, theconstruction of the fellowshipbuilding at Bethel Baptist Churchwas being delayed, but Jacksonnever lost faith that the Lord wouldprovide continued success in theconstruction.Jackson said, "Everything has a

purpose, and it was in God's plan forit to rain. It was his delay."Jackson said as he pictures

himself and others standing in thefellowship building on the first dayof its opening, special feelings runthrough his mind. He said, "I justthink about the goodness of the Lord.
