Market information

The farm-produce industry is the largest of the Moroccan economy. It contributes about one-third of the annual GDP and accounts for 8% of the national GDP for a production of more than 5,4 billions euros and releases 1,6 billion euros of added-value.

This industry is in a continuous growths thanks to the important demand from both domestic and export markets. This is explained primarily by the manifest change of the gastronomical practices, inducing an improvement of the level of national consumption, but remains relatively low compared to other countries with the same economic level.The sector exports only 17% of its production because of particular difficulties of satisfying quality criteria and the medical requirements of the importing countries.

For this purpose, Morocco opened its doors to increase food exchanges, as the agricultural sector is the major sector for the economy to be reinforced in the framework of “Plan Maroc Vert” policy and “Halieutis” program. The Kingdom moved from the 77th rank in the world on 2004 to the 23rd in 2009, in the index of international connectivity.

The exhibition

The 1st International exhibition for MAFEX, is scheduled to be held from 31st October to 2nd November, 2012 in O.F.E.C Casablanca, organised by IFW EXPO and IEC.

This event, the first in Morocco, aims to be the most important gathering for trade suppliers and buyers from Morocco and other african countries and a real platform to showcase new products, meet valuable new contacts .The show provides an ideal international meeting to discover new process and machines and reap new business opportunities in Africa.
