Business Case Analysis
For the purpose of this analysis I have only included information I deemed pertinent to the case. Most of the background information on the Coleman Art Museum is available in the case document and I have not repeated it herein.
1. Identify the problems, issues and challenges. Identify what has happened.
The Coleman Art Museum (CAM) is a not-for-profit art museum that was founded in 1925. In 2000 CAM moved to a newly constructed facility in the central business district of Universal City. The purpose of CAM is to provide an inviting setting for the appreciation or art in its historical and cultural contexts according to the CAM public charter. It's main line of business is to continue providing this service for the benefit of the citizens and vistors of Fannel County.
2. Identify why these things have happened.
This case analysis will treat the two problems as separate issues. It is very likely that positive changes to CAM's image will have a positive effect on the museums financial position.
Revenue decline ~ CAM has no marketing image. Nothing about the building says its a museum
3. Identify what has been the result and what action is required
Mercer and Smith believe their initiial meeting had produced some good ideas but both thought they need to give these matters further though. They need to meet again to prepare an integrated plan of action and pro forma income statement for 2005.
Personnel reductions maybe possible , 10% reduction in personnel and administration costs was possible
