GASCO decided to maximize the recovery of the ethane and propanefrom the W/D gas fields, at Alexandria, by expanding the existing feedgas processing capacity from 600 MMSCFD to 900 MMSCFD. A newNGL extraction train and associated downstream fraction train capableof handling 300 MMSCFD of feed gas was developed in a previousof handling 300 MMSCFD of feed gas was developed in a previousphase.In order to have an independent process train, a new 300 MMSCFD gasdehydration package was required to dry the feed gas to the leveldesired to satisfy the down stream NGL extraction facilities requirement.

Unitwas designed to treat two different independentstreams to the following spec’s:From 8200 kpa(a) to 2800 kpa(a) - from 40°C to 50°CFrom 8200 kpa(a) to 6300 kpa(a) - from 20°C to 30°CFrom 8200 kpa(a) to 6300 kpa(a) from 20 C to 30 CUnit was designed to process 60 TJ/D of Domgas(Domestic Gas).

Tail gas is Dryed by the ISG MolecularSieve Package to a water dew-point of -70°C prior ofthe Main Cryogenic Heat Exchanger that cools the

Mellitah Gas National Oil Corporation of Libya and ENI Italydevelop a new project in the Libya desert with new plants toprocess raw gas and oil produced from the Wafa Onshoreand Offshore Bahr Essalam Fields. The refined sales gasand other products such as stabilized oil condensateand other products, such as stabilized oil, condensate,propane, and butane are exported respectively via subseapipeline to Italy and to local and other markets via tankersand carriers. ISG received a contract to supply No. 2 LPGDehydration and Sweetening Unit. The flow rate to betreated for each unit is 54 ton/hr of LPG with exitspecification for water < 2 ppm wt and sulphur < 10 ppm wt.

The Kårstø processing plant north of Stavanger plays a keyrole in the transport and treatment of gas and condensate(light oil) from important areas on the Norwegian continentalshelf The Gas is processed and the wet gas is then sent onshelf. The Gas is processed and the wet gas is then sent onto the fractionation plant where it is split into propane, normalbutane, iso-butane and naphtha. Propane is stored in twolarge rock caverns with a combined capacity of 250,000m³.ISG has provided the PROPANE DRYER UNIT (TSA type)designed to remove water from the Propane Receiverproduct stream so as to eliminate downstream hydrate / icingin the refrigeration circuit. Waters originate from the propaneboil off from the caverns due to the ice layer on the cavernwalls. To reduce the size of the C3 Dryer, ISG has alsoy ,supplied a refrigeration unit able to reduce the amount ofwater at the dryer feed.

A Korean refinery planned to install an RFCC unit. ISG was asked to reviewthe design of the LPG purification facilities outlined by the process licensor forproviding feed to downstream MTBE and polypropylene units.The ISG study highlighted three problems with the adsorbent polishing unit
design:
1) It was under designed by a factor of two due to an error between processlicenser and adsorbent vendor2) It required more than 20 mt/h of nitrogen for regeneration which wouldnecessitate a new cryogenic nitrogen plant.y g g p3) Little consideration had been given to adsorber draining / filling which wouldhave resulted in large variations in product LPG rate
ISG designed and supplied a skid-mounted LPG purification unit using an integrated closed loop nitrogen regeneration circuit. This designensured that the unit would meet the required specification, saved the client more than USD 3 million, reduced nitrogen consumption to anaverage of 3mt/h and increased system thermal efficiency.
Supply of skid-mounted equipment minimised site installation work. ISG assisted with dry run sequence testing, commissioning and systemoptimisation. The unit is now operating within specification and has treated 120% of the design capacity.
